Udon review
- Al-dente, springy and addictive on its own! Served with shoyu-ish dipping sauce so good that the boyfriend slurped every drop of it.

Pork Katsu (hot!)
- Quality pork katsu served with a mix of marinated onions and topped with eggylicious scramble. Tender, umami bite with every spoonful of pearly Japanese rice. Compared to the beef gyudon, the katsu bowls were comparatively larger in size and appeared to be of a bigger serving. Hms, not sure if this is true. I'd think both portions are pretty equal - given the gyudon bowl was tall and deep!

With 1-1 Burpple beyond deal, this was incredibly value-of-money (w dessert & drink). Portion size for the entire set was decent - contrary to the 'teeny' portion as noted in some reviews.

Sukiyaki Beef (hot!)
- Chewy, tender marinated beef strips mixed with onions, served on a bed of pearly Japanese rice that had been infused with beefy aroma. As a result, each spoonful was so flavourful, so umami. While the bowl seemed puny, it's pretty deep and filled to the brim!

These beautiful scoops screams "sexaye-me!". Rich, fragrant aroma of sesame - creamy and slightly grainy. Not too sweet too -great for fans of nutty-ish, less-sweet ice cream.

Love the cold udon very silky! Portion is small, it includes main, free flow houjicha/matcha, dessert. We got the mochi- quite good.
$14+

Quite expensive, even with Burpple Beyond was about 15+ per person. However given the quality of the unagi it was worth it. The unagi was really nice and fleshy, I would say better than a particular location in bugis famous for their unagi that rhymes with na na.

The star of this meal is clearly the cold udon. The katsu was okay, but I found the Japanese rice to be disappointing in texture. The rice and udon set I chose was one of the cheaper sets (~$17) but if you wanted to get chirashi or anything fancier the sets could cost up to $29. And that’s EXCLUDING the drink and dessert in the Burpple deal 😬😬😬

The Burpple Beyond set came with a drink (I ordered a $3 Houjicha) and a dessert. I loved the matcha and black sesame ice cream! The black sesame was really rich and creamy.

Paid around $14 per pax after Burpple Beyond. Personally, I wouldn’t come back for the set because I think it’s not really worth it, especially since I didn’t really like the rice. I’d maybe come back for the udon though and get some of their cheaper mains.
