From the Burpple community

Hidden in Esplanade Mall, this modern and spacious restaurant is ideal for both group gatherings or casual dinners in air-conditioned comfort. Come for their aromatic Curry Fish Head ($20 for 2 pax) that is served over a flame, keeping it piping hot. Complete the spread with the quintessential Sambal Kangkong (from $8) and the fluffy Egg Fu Yong (from $8). To cut through the heaviness, have a peppery bowl of La La in Superior Broth ($12).

As for the soup, they have this daily soup with different type everyday. For the day we visited, they have the chicken soup for $5++ per bowl, which comes with generous portion of chicken meat in it. The soup was tasty and served hot.

This is probably my favourite among all the foods we ordered. Fluffy and juicy while serving hot on the plate. You could get the oyster in almost every bites.

Jiak Modern Tzechar is a Halal restaurant where you can find all the usual tze char items and you could invite your Muslim friends to join you here.

The fried rice was cooked perfectly with generous amount of chicken meat inside. As for the golden chicken, it was prepared in sweet and sour sauce. You will get addicted with the taste after ever bites.

Curry fish isn't fresh fish
Kang Kong too oily
Golden claypot chicken is very salty
Yang Zhou fried rice is too damp
Hotplate bean curd is too salty

Overall: edible for the cheapest curry fish head in town but taste not preferred

Had a family meal at Jiak and it was well worth the money! 6 of us shared curry fish head, 2 types of veggies, 1 hot plate beancurd, 1 oyster egg and 1 salted egg sotong for only $88!! (Including drinks and rice) Loved loved loved the food there. The staff also checked on our experience and how the food was. Will return!
