Tastemaker Veronica Phua puts it so aptly, "Two thick yet lightly fluffy pancakes are so generously filled with blueberries and ricotta cheese bits, every mouthful is absolute heaven. As if that is not enough, three pieces of crisp bacon add a savory dimension to what is already wow". Finish off with their wonderful coffee, and you've got the perfect brunch. Sit outside if the weather is nice!
The crazy queues made up of mainly 18-25s is a good indication of the value The Sushi Bar delivers. The Normal Chirashi Don is unbelievably satisfying at $24, with decadent cuts of fresh sashimi. The Salmon Aburi rolls appear on every table, topped with lightly-seared salmon and mentaiko mayo, to-die-for! Make reservations early, or simply join the hungry queue.
Burppler Amalina highly recommends this fairly new Halal cafe! She says "This is banoffee pavlova with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It is awesome, the pavlova simply melts in your mouth. Good news for those who've missed Chef Shen Tan's signature Nasi Lemak, you can savour it again at the newly opened Ujong. Be prepared to pay quite a bit more than you're used to, with dishes averaging $20 a pop! Tastemaker Rachel also recommends the Hae Bee Hiam Mentaiko Capellini- "thin coils of pasta emollient with garlic-and-prawn-stock butter, dotted with crispy lardons, and slicked with an unexpectedly creamy dried shrimp and mentaiko paste..."
At Spathe, communal dining is where it's at. We're talking about their Mammoth SIgnatures: think metre-long sausages and pizzas. Quality is definitely not compromised by quantity here.
