Comfort food at its best. Uncomplicated, simple yet tasty. Worth the wait in queue. The fish balls are handmade, soft with a crunchy texture. The soup is flavoured and light. Love it.
The Art of Mee Pok, aside of Mee Pok has a stall serving up selections of Ngoh Hiang items: Prawn Crackers, Wanton, Fish Pasta Wrapped with Bean Curd Skin, etc. Choose your items starting from $1.50 each, and it'll be deep fried and served to you with house special chilli sauce topped with some portion of crushed salty yellow bean paste (Tau Chew). Lethal combination of spicy-ness and salty-ness. Don't miss it.!
Crunchy Mee Pok (Chinese Fettuccini) with fresh, crunchy tasting fishballs. The dish is well seasoned with the right amount of sauce and chilli paste. Generous bean sprouts, and At $4.50 for a small bowl it's worth the long wait.
A personal favourite dish found in a large coffee shop with the name 泉来 560 Macpherson Road. The pig's intestines were well cooked, served with pineapple & cucumber pieces and garnished with Chinese paisley and spring onions. The intestines, dipped in the home-made chilli sauce that's rather red in colour but tasted sour and spicy at the same time. The pineapple and chilli was a perfect match with the smooth kway chap in a light soup. There is a herbal trace in the soup. The overall taste and texture makes this place a must return!
At a large corner shop in Serangoon. Serves up mouth-watering curry rice dishes. All bite-sized portioned by a pair of scissors prior to serving hence the business name. Simple, Tasty, and affordable!
Awesome fried carrot cake at the old Bedok Interchange Food Ctr. It's moist with some char crispy parts, yet you can taste the crunchiness of fried raddish (cai poh). S$2.50 a portion, we no longer waste our calories on mediocre fried carrot cake! Seriously not to be missed. Think the stall is closed on Sundays.
