I was giddy with delight over these fresh garlic-laden cockles (known as "hum" in Teochew). Our table of ten polished off two plates at one go for our starter. Yes, in the presence of such appetisingly spicy and crunchy succulence, we were powerless.
Roast Chicken, Basil Pesto and Greek Yoghurt. Chicken was chunky and flavourful; complimented well with that pesto that came with a hint of basil scent that's slightly tart from the Greek Yoghurt. Pretty delicious combination which was light on the palate at the same time.
Very smooth hor fun with extremely fresh crayfish and prawns. The chilli is good too! Worth the queue.
Conveniently located in the heart of Jalan Besar on Maude road, Wan He Lou is a humble looking Chinese restaurant serving an array of seafood dishes at down to earth prices.
One of the must try dishes is the signature Lobster porridge, priced at $29.90 for 2-3 person serving or $39.90 for large that serve up to 5 person. The lobster broth is robust and full of natural flavours, and the meat is luxuriously tender and flesh.
Best seafood soup I had ever ever ever had in my life!
