Came back to Ichiban Boshi after so many years, ended up with a bowl of tempura prawn and rice. They somehow customised the dish to fit the Malaysian taste bud and added bits of chilli together - it was the spiciest ebidon I have ever had. I can’t eat spicy food too, so there. Despite that, I liked the spicy kick. The tempura prawn was crispy. The rice was just nice to go with prawns.. I was satisfied.

Finally tried Birch after so long! Dinner menu was pretty limited - I ended up with salmon, my favourite. I was confused if it was jam packed with salmon or just tomatoes at first. After a while I think the tacos were already a little soggy and bits of salmon were dropping from the tacos. Not the best option if you’re going for ladylike 😜

I was craving for pasta so ultimately I had to order this. I am generally an okay eater, but I thought I was still a little hungry after this bowl of pasta. It was nice, but the portion was just a little too small for me.

Finally tried out this brunch place a few months ago. We could pick our own 5 sides if I remember correctly. I thought it looked small at first, then I couldn’t finish it because it was a lot 😅

The only thing I keep coming back to Mei for - their lemongrass chicken. Man, I could use this right now now that I think about it 😋

A few weeks ago, I joined some of us Tastemakers along with Trisha to check out Raintree. There were lots of food: we had the salad, aglio olio, burger, pizzas - a lot of food. As it has been a few weeks since I tasted them, I vaguely remember the taste. Overall, it was alright.

One night I decided to have Indian for dinner, and Saravanaa Bhavan popped up in my head. I have never tried it before, so I was excited. I ordered the garlic naan to be paired with the palak paneer. In all honesty, I have tasted better palak paneer before but this version wasn’t too shabby. The garlic naan wasn’t too garlicky as I thought it would have been, so that’s good for me.

I couldn’t decide between chicken or fish, but ended up taking the fish one because I wanted to try the sauces on the table. There were three different sauces - I assumed it was salsa and some other sauces hahah. Without the sauces, I think it tasted bleh - that’s just me and fried battered fish in general. I took the hot salsa (I think it’s hot salsa) to be paired together with my quesadilla. Here’s the thing, I’ve always thought quesadillas come as the flat bread thing, but mine came as a burrito so I was a little confused. I liked it overall, and would come back to try the rest.

This felt almost similar to the Phad Thai I had back in Krabi last month, minus the bean sprouts. I ordered specifically without it but oh well. Despite it being 9pm, the prawns were still juicy (I had 4). Mixed it together with the nuts and chilli flakes and there you have it. Cannot beat the one in Krabi but this was close. This was the closest.

After so long, I finally went to The Fat Fish again to try out this thing I have been wanting to for a while. It has four types of seasonal fish, which was tuna and salmon, some of it, if I remember correctly. I loved it, you have to give it a try. I shared it with two other people though, as I was scared I might not be able to finish it.

I had this on the second day they started serving it, and I haven't been back since then, but I sure hope they still have it there. I think it was just nice. It wasn't too cheesy, and it had bits of lamb inside which I liked. One thing I didn't like was the green capsicum thing. Other than that, it was good.

I'd be crazy not to come back. For a restaurant which comes off as fancy, Portofino is definitely affordable. Good Italian food, good desserts.. what else could you possibly need? Some of the pastas are handmade, you need to try it. I'm still thinking of this pizza, I'm in love. Also it was my first time eating olives, I surprisingly loved it. I'm coming back soon! 😍
