Dessert
Missing the food and pretty jar desserts here. Here's Matcha Azuki to sweeten up my evening before dinner.
Topped with coconut ice cream, shredded coconuts, fresh banana and gula Melaka, it stole our hearts away.
Sweet and simple – chocolate fondue, lightly torched baby marshmallows, and graham cracker crumble on an impeccably done waffle.
From FIX Grill situated within FIX cafe. A white chocolate mousse infused with bergamot orange served with mixed berry Coulis, lemon verbena oil and chocolate sand. Surprisingly the mousse was light in flavour; perhaps the bergamot orange helped neutralized the sweetness of the mousse this leaving it only with the fragrance of milk chocolate. Mixed berry Coulis and lemon verbena oil added a different dimension of flavour by incorporating a tart flavour to the dessert.
This wholesome tart comes speckled with Macademia tarts and filled with scorched caramel. The tart base was a bit cookie-like, which is a bit hard to cut through. Pretty flavourful but heavy tasting; good to share this with a friend or two.
Aesthetically-appealing matcha cake with matcha mousse and sponge cake layer that encases a sourish-sweet grape compote in between that's all luxurious.
Meringue layers brings the neutral flavour to the tartness brought by the lemon. Tart base was firm without being hard.
More sweet than sour with a citrus touch. Loved the crust which held up well enough yet not being too hard and carried some flavour as well. Meringue was lightly torched and provided a neutralising taste to the Kumquat curd.
Le Kue is a new patisserie at 20 Haji Lane. Rose Marshmallow was soft, pillowy and chewy yet comes with a very light hint of Bandung-like flavour. Pretty refreshing.
This Coconut Pudding ($6+) is just one out of the many bakes and desserts here that has a local taste to it. The coconut flavour is distinctive and the pudding is soft and silky. What's more, it's topped with grated coconut flakes and gula melaka sauce is poured around it!
This snack is really addictive. Tattle tots with truffle oil. The truffle oil could be stronger though.
But, their banana parfait ($10) is equally good too! Imagine ice cream coated with milk chocolate, served with grilled banana, shredded coconut and gula melaka. Sounds irresistible, doesn't it?
