While the cafe was rather inaccessible, the pastries were worth the trip! Had their Halloween specials and particularly enjoyed the choux.
My go-to flavours are always the Yuzu raspberry and the Ispahan, the cakes here are consistently good and not too sweet! The new range of Gryphon cold brewed teas complement these treats perfectly
Great space, tastefully decorated and lovely tea pairings by A.muse Projects (do tip generously :)!)
Choose between Japanese Pumpkin soft-serve with Matcha Mochi balls ($15) or Cookie Butter soft-serve with Raspberry Mochi balls ($15). Love the Matcha that has a sharp bite followed by lingering sweetness. Complimenting the chewy donut balls are bits of brown sugar pie crumbs and toasted pumpkin seed. It's just plain good!
In love with the mochi donut here!! The crisp cereal and raspberries were a nice touch as well! Only the cookie butter/taro flavours were available when I went, not really the best soft serve I've had but would have loved to try the matcha.
If I had to nominate a plated dessert that symbolises prettiness, I'd say this would be it. Utterly feminine in looks and flavour, this froufrou creation has a light and crunchy base of rose meringue filled with lychee compote and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. "Floating" just above is a ooh-worthy cloud of spun sugar.
Lovely as it is, I recommend sharing this. Unless you have a very sweet tooth.
Upon entering this little cakery tucked away in Everton Park, you'll be greeted by an incredibly enticing display case of sweet treats. Give the Foret Noir ($9.80) a go — their indulgent take on the classic black forest, with elements of dark Valrhona chocolate and Kirsh-soaked cherries for that alcoholic kick. For something lighter, try the Zacharie ($7.80), a mango passion fruit-infused cheese mousse sitting on a ginger biscuit base, with a mango passion fruit core. Other cakes play with flavours including earl grey, matcha, lychee and even coconut! There's bound to be something to tickle your fancy.
The selection of items available were rather limited and though thoughtfully crafted, were rather average taste-wise. The kurobuta pork belly buns and chill crab mantou were probably some of the better items! Nevertheless a lovely place for tea while being serenaded by their wonderful pianist!
Matcha Azuke ($16) / eclairs ($6-$7) the parfait though prettily plated was rather underwhelming! Preferred the lovely selection of eclairs! The minimalist yet inviting interior was a plus though!
An East meets West high tea buffet with a decent selection of limited seafood options, local delights and live stations that were easily better than the western options. Enjoyed the rojak & prawn noodle in particular but probably not worth the price!
