After being rejected by the Hokkaido seafood upstairs, I strolled down to have jap ramen instead. The volcano ramen looked too big and filling for me so I had the shoyu ramen instead.

The chashu was nicely done and the egg and noodles were great 👍🏼 I felt that the broth was not as thick and flavourful as other ramen places though. Worth the calories but I will not queue for it.

Price: $15 after GST

Located 1km away from Orchard Mrt, I was ready to judge this ramen shop as not-worth-the-extra-mile. BUT upon stepping into the place, I felt like I was instantly transported back to Japan with the loud and cheery ‘irrashaimase!’ and great service!

Ramen broth was thick and flavourful, the noodles and egg were nicely done. I also love how they gave 3 prices of nori! I felt that the char siu could have more fats though as mine was a little dry. They have a lunch combo where you can add 3 gyoza and a cup of green tea for $3.50.

Overall, definitely worth a try especially if u r in the area.

Cost: 16.90 before GST

Another ramen to add to my list!
[+] it was a good, decent bowl of ramen. Everything was nicely done.
[+] I like that the broth has a kick of spiciness from their special sauce which makes it less jelak and differentiates it from other ramen soup base

I didn’t order the tamago egg as I saw that the portion is quite big.

Worth the price and calories.

A twist on the usual Tonkotsu pork broth, this Shio Ramen broth is flavored with rock salt and topped with a large piece of char siew, bamboo shoots, and fragrant Japanese leeks; its broth peppered with sesame seeds.

We personally preferred this to the Shoyu Ramen for its rich sweetness and nuttiness. What's more, it's ramen noodles are springy to the touch! At $12.90, this is an absolute steal. There's also an option for a half portion at $8.80, but we reckon the full portion will be just right.

This dish is amazing, the pork cheeks were succulent and the juice just splurts out when you sink your teeth into it. The price however, *clears throat* is approximately $24.00 for this bowl of specialty ramen! There's this soup base you can try for an extra $1.00 but my friends which tried it regretted it cos it's kind of spicy i guess? Definitely not a restaurant you will visit everyday because of its cost but this treat once a month is definitely worthwhile!

Rained in at the office. Gym plans thwarted. Shall spend the rest of the night feeling fat and grumpy.

I hope everyone is having a better Tuesday evening, preferably huddled over a steamy bowl of ramen, broth and fatty pork!

P.S.- I heart the sweet marinated minced pork that comes with the Jet Black ramen at Ramen Suzuki!

The best ramen I've had so far outside of Japan... I will have the non spicy flavour next time because the pepper started becoming a little too much near the end of the bowl - I really wanted to drink the soup! Come here with an empty stomach, otherwise it will seem too heavy.
