From ιΌ at Wild Market which sells only white carrot cake but with an option of toppings such as Sour Cream & Onion, Salted Egg, Grilled Squid and Tom Yum.
Not sure where the grilled squid went even though my order was keyed in accurately on their POS β definitely could not find a trace of grilled squid within the carrot cake. Ignoring that fact however, the carrot cake was decently fried especially with light wok hei, soft, small chunks of turnip pudding and crunchy cai po to add a umami crunch β would be great if the egg part could carry a little crispness. Chili was sweet, savoury yet delivered a good kick while the seasoning helps to enhance the spiciness and umami factor of the carrot cake. For those curious about their Salted Egg version, the Salted Egg gets lathered on the sliced portions of carrot cake before serving β just FYI for those who are wondering if the stir-fried it into the carrot cake during the cooking process. Would probably recommend to original White Carrot Cake if one decides to try this.
If you're in the market for an upscale dim sum brunch, this is your spot. Pastry chef Janice Wong's 1500 sqft flagship restaurant in the National Museum of Singapore will not only serve her well-known desserts, but also savoury dishes from the book she published in 2013. Come with your family in tow and tuck into familiar dim sum dishes like liu sha baos, dumplings and even heartier mains like somen β all done with a twist. The colourful hues from the artwork decorating her walls, made by Janice and her team, are also reflected in the food, like the striking pink, green and dark purple skins on the Mini Pots (Siew Mai, $15 for three). Instead of a measly amount of shrimp roe on typical siew mai's, the ones here are generously topped with caviar. Get the XLB Tasting Platter ($20) to have a taste of all four xiao long baos available β with its strong cherry flavour, we think the Foie Gras Pork Cherry is the most impressive of the lot.

Always on the lookout for new dinner spots to impress your date? This flamboyant space on the first floor of M Social Singapore (not to be confused with Studio M Hotel) is the place to bring your beau. The massive pad is decked with lava lamps, chandeliers projecting artworks and even a sprawling wall of 40 iPads displaying visual art pieces specially designed by French icon Philippe Starck β all great as conversation starters. Together with their bold East-meets-West dishes, expect a novel dining experience here. Start with the Simply Scallop ($24) β Hokkaido scallops served carpaccio-style, drizzled with a tangy yuzu and ginger marinade. Then, try the Great Rack of Lamb ($36), where unbelievably tender mutton meat is marinated with oriental spices and served with steamed glutinous rice and Sichuan peppercorn, while the Lobster Porridge ($28), Executive Chef Bryce Li's specialty, is a comforting bowl of Teochew porridge teeming with abalone slices and topped with a lobster. Finish the meal on a high with the Yam Brulee ($10) β a twist on the traditional Teochew dessert topped with coconut ice cream.

Crispy skin and moist tender meat on this German pork knuckle, served with a sour spicy Thai nam jim sauce!
Clear seafood bouillabaisse, fusion broth of jasmine, osmanthus, and crab stock. Fragrant and savoury sweet, with fresh squid, crab pincer, clams, and shrimp! Add crispy rice for a nice crunch!
Like all Egg Benedict, you'll can expect egg, meat and bun but that's where the similarities ends.
Wobbling low temperature eggs atop Unagi and mushroom duxelles. Yuzu kosho hollandaise dribbled over for a refreshing taste. No english muffins or brioche for them either buy Chinese flower bun aka θ±ε·. OH MY! Moist chewy bun, fried to a golden brown exterior. A perfect pairing!
Plus mains comes with fried mantou & soup.
The crunchy pear slices squirt sweet and juicy cool relief into your mouth whilst elsewhere the intensely sour plum sorbet would elicit a mouthly squirm not unlike when an Ah Ma sucks on a particularly rambunctious lemon. 3.8/5

The crunchy coconut shavings and sweet and perversely sour calamansi may provide temporary mouthly gratification but the notable absence of sambal from the salty stingray's existence is like wearing baggy shorts without undergarments whilst taking the Ion Orchard escalator upwards - the drafty emptiness is palpable. 3.4/5

Essentially glacially cool and teasingly spicy meesua with dashes of saltiness from kawa ebi. Elsewhere, chunks of eel stopped to ask for directions and the smoky scallop slices somehow managed to adopt fishcakes' texturality and skinly char. 4/5

Had the degustation menu which had a escargot as appetizer, a choice of risotto (had the chili crab), a shot of watermelon juice, a choice of roll (had lobster roll) and tiramisu - for $35. It was good! Will return :)
