Pretty much everyone has heard about Nakhon kitchen, be it for their cheap good Thai food or their horrendous long queues. However for the number of people in line, the wait was relatively not that long. Food wise, it was pretty great for the price, with each dish coming up to $6 or so. The phad thai tang hoon was the winner for me. It was something different from the usual phad thai, and the glass noodles were just so good. I really liked the fried pork with garlic - then again you can never go wrong with this dish. The Tom yum soup with coconut milk was interesting, but I still prefer the original I think. All in all, a pretty good meal that's definitely worth it's price, that is, if you're willing to wait it out.
This is a must-try dish when you visit Nakhon! It is sooooo good that you will see this dish appearing on almost every table. The meat are well marinated and the juices are sealed underneath the pandan leaves. It tasted abit like nonya style + chicken satay 》4Pcs @ $6
So satisfying and bursting with a cacophony of sweet, sour and spicy flavours, i can understand why this neighbourhood Thai restaurant attracts snaking queues everyday. Prices are wallet-friendly and a mere 5min drive away (for me!).
Don't miss this! It is so fresh and so yummy! (5/5)
I used to live near Yong's and my family would head over for breakfast every other weekend. The queue during weekday mornings can get pretty torturous. Most customers in front of us were getting boxes and boxes of kuehs- it was no surprise to see customers walking away with 2 big bags (at least 8 boxes of 6 kuehs each) at a time and there were times we would wait for almost half an hour before it was finally our turn. I remember watching these customers happily walk away with their orders while I nervously waited for my turn, wondering if this cabbage kueh would run out. Sometimes I would be disappointed, but there were also times where I was rewarded with steaming hot and fresh cabbage kueh- wholesomely filled with veggies, mushroom and haebee. Easily one of my favourite kuehs in the world. #hawkerpedia
