Jurong Point 🙆🏻
This was on the side menu but I'm glad I didn't miss it. Cooked in white wine sauce with capers and olives, this seafood dish (salmon, mussels, clams) was plenty flavourful. Some may find this too salty but i actually really like the rich savoury flavours. I'm usually not one to point this out but thumbs up on presentation too, makes me feel as though the chef spent effort with the overall assembly.
The sweet red bean paste and the slight bitterness of the matcha powder really compliments each other and can't go wrong in my books. Not stingy on the ingredients too: generous coating of matcha powder and rich flavour of the green tea ice cream (it's not the cheapo artificial-tasting kind). Great dessert for sharing, size-wise and price-wise, considering its $14.90 for a bowl of ice.
Packed with lots of mango toppings and has pieces of mango fruit within the snow ice layer here and there. I find this one of the better bingsu I've tried becos they aren't stingy with the cut fruits! 👍🏻☺️
Colourful plates of sushi for a light dinner today. I don't fancy sashimi but my options weren't limited becos of the wide variety of sushi options that were available. My favourites are the typical ones: tamago and fish roe. 😋
A few of the family favourite dishes that's always ordered: Marmite chicken, Herbal roasted duck, Nai Bai in egg white broth and my personal favourite, the stir-fried seafood bee hoon (fried with lots of wok-hei 🙌🏻😌).
Beancurd-ginkgo-barley soup and sesame paste: 2 of my all time favourite Chinese desserts. 记得吃 does one of the nicest sesame paste imo, smooth consistency and not overly sweet. Highly recommend 👍🏻
New item on the menu: Fluffy buttery soft bun with slightly crisp edges and char siew filling on the inside. Loved the bun but personally preferred the char siew sweeter, and more generous. Priced at 3 for $5.50. But will probably go for my usual 叉烧搜 the next time round. 😚
Tried the pasta from fish and co for the first time and it was just ok. Tasty yes but I'll go for their fish mains the next time round. Their fish never disappoints, and their rice and mashed potato sides are awesome but only complain I have is the lack of truffle aroma and taste in their truffle fries. Needs more truffle oil please! 😞
My go-to dish at Ichiban Boshi: Udon with salmon chunks, tofu, mushroom, vege and a runny egg in dashi soup stock. All affordably priced at $12.90. 👍🏻
Korean hotpot for the cold weather ☺️
Roasted duck, Marmite chicken, Chinese spinach and Ee-fu mian: the typical dishes my family always orders. Never fails to disappoint. ☺️
