Southeast Asian delights

The soup is clear but tasty, made even tastier after squeezing in the lime and adding chilli padi. Some people found it too bland but I thought it was just right but I would have liked more basil. This bowl of beef feast combo contains beef ribeye, shin and beef balls ($8). The beef balls are well-made without being too chewy. Prices from $5 onwards. An affordable eat in Somerset.

Great for sharing, not so great for squeezy restaurant.

I like that it is sour enough without too much pineapple (hate them!) and the noodles are still chewy. Highly recommended.

Hearty well-cooked oxtail soup for the soul. I first encountered soup buntut in Batam and man I love this soup. It's like having oxtail stew but a clear light version that tricks you into believing it's healthier ... not. Will be back to try their Mee soto and other food!

$9.50 for soup and rice. The soup is light yet flavourful, and the oxtail cooked till the meat falls off the bone. Must try if you like Indonesian food!

Thoughtful for them to have packed the noodles separately lest it bloats in the curry on my way back to office.
