now at level 5 of sime darby centre, the less prominent space does not mean it lost any of its crowd or die-hard fans. judgin by this orange fierce pot of curry (small, $23.50), free-flow briyani rice, free-flow veg stews and papadam, not hard to know why it is so popular. other fans favourite on the table are: chicken masala, chicken liver and sotong (small, $5.40 each). did i mention free-flow papadam? free-floooowwwww la dey, free-flow!!!
The craving for soya sauce chicken had me going down to Chinatown to visit Hawker Chan for the first time! Arrived a little before 6pm and got in in a jiffy due to the fast turnover of tables. I still remember how my mum used to queue for half an hour to buy boxes of whole chickens, roasted pork and char siew back home, and that was long before it was awarded the Michelin Star. Haven't had it for a long time because of the snaking long queues, so I was excited to be here!
Got the half chicken to share and topped up $1.50 for each portion of noodles. The noodles were q, had a nice bite and was generously served in sauce, so you don't have to worry about it drying up. As for the star of the show, the glossy silky chicken skin still tastes as flavourful but the meat not as tender, especially the non-drumstick parts. But for the shorter waiting time and an air conditioned seating area, it's worth to go! Chili here is also quite shiok, remember to get some!
PS sirloin $18.9 | PS ribeye $21.9 net

Don't think there's anywhere else offering cheaper Sri Lankan crabs than here in 21 Seafood - $25 for 3 small crabs, $30 for 2 medium and $40 for 2 large ones! PLUS, choose from 16 different cooking styles (which had us really torn among the choices like Creamy Butter, 'Kam Heong' and good ol' Chili). Sauce was buttery and creamy, crabs were surprisingly good for the price though I might go with the medium ones next time. Please get yourself some fried fluffy mantous too to mop up all that sauce!!!
We enjoyed the decent zi char spread here, food was served quickly and prices were reasonable. A very no frills kind of place great for group meals! #BurppleCheapNGood
A thick, meaty slab of stingray grilled to perfection and served with tangy, spicy sambal chilli.
Tender, moist meat that simply melts in your mount.
Price: $10
This humongous platter of Nasi Ambeng was the highlight for me on #BurppleTastemaker Julius' #TastyTastemakerTour.
This is a platter that will draw stares of envy when it arrives and more stares when you savour every last bit of it. It contains the best of what ENAK has to offer: awesome wings, sotong, rendang, and those eggplants 😋.
For $22.50 only, this is something really hearty to share with friends or family. If you can't handle the pressure from eating such a huge serving, the shop does offer smaller portions to satisfy your craves. 😂
