Dessert (Churros Con Canela Azucar* OR Tarta de Queso "La Vina"): * has Nespresso infused in the dish

The churros were light and crispy, and went well with both the Nespresso coffee cream (Nespresso taste was prominent) and dark chocolate sauce. We weren’t impressed with the Burnt Cheesecake though, as we found it too dense to our liking.

Verdict: Go for Churros Con Canela Azucar.

Main (Bacalao Asado OR Pluma Iberica):

Similar to the appetisers, both mains were equally enjoyable in their own ways! The Black Cod was broiled to perfection, and the butterbean stew beneath was so moreish too! The Pluma Iberica was well-grilled, tender, juicy, and went really well with the potato foam.

Verdict: Either one works.

Soup (Consome al Jerez OR Consome de Tomate):

Both consommés were done really well, but in terms of flavour, we preferred the tangy and flavourful Consome de Tomate over the more earthy Consome al Jerez.

Verdict: Go for the Consome de Tomate.

Appetiser (Tomato Heirloom Con Esparragos OR Vieira Con Habas Y Jamon*): *has Nespresso infused in the dish

Both were good in their own ways. The Tomato Heirloom Con Esparragos was really refreshing, while the Vieira (scallop) was nicely seared and the jamon (bacon) added a nice crunch (we couldn’t really taste the Nespresso in the milk foam though)!

Verdict: Either one works.

I have to admit that when this appetiser was served to our table i wasn’t expecting much, but i was pleasantly surprised by how much i (and the others) loved this!

These Shimeji mushrooms were surprisingly light in taste and so well seasoned, which made each bite so addictive! Not one single piece was left untouched, so you can tell how much we loved this!

Don’t underestimate these innocent looking baby lobsters, each one of them were filed with heat from the mala spices that will numb your senses!

At Qi Lai Feng, there are two ways to enjoy fish pots, and for the dry pot the recommendation is to pair it with their Q Fish. The Q Fish (grass carp) has a texture similar to squid and is chewy and springy, certainly a refreshing change from the usual. Paired with the dried chills and peppercorns, this was a quite a spicy dish! There is even an option to add on pork bone broth midway through your dry pot and order extra hotpot ingredients for round 2!

Recently attended a eatup session at Qi Lai Feng and this was easily my favourite dish that night. The pot was filled with a generous amount of fresh fish slices in a very appetising tangy broth. This would be perfect during rainy weather periods.

A variation from the usual hei zhor (prawn roll), these meat and seafood rolls were pretty yummy! Goes really well with the sweet chilli sauce.

Thanks Burpple and White Restaurant for having me.

This was super addictive! Each piece of squid was coated with a generous amount of salted egg yolk sauce. I could have the whole plate to myself!

One of the side dishes i highly recommend is their Homemade Fried Beancurd. Its exterior was fried till golden brown and the interior is a soft filling comprising of beancurd and fish paste. Pair it with sweet chilli sauce or mayonnaise for a yummy treat!

What’s dining at White Restaurant without ordering their signature white beehoon right? Have always been a fan of this dish since their Sembawang days, the taste never fails to impress! The white beehoon is drenched in a very flavourful chicken stock and seafood based gravy, which makes every bite so slurp worthy!

Thanks Burpple and White Restaurant for having me.
