Mozzarella Cheese sticks (~$14.90): crispy and not too oily, but the cheese was more chewy than stringy, and it could be more melted imo🧀

And lastly Mentaiko Hokkaido Scallops (~$10.80): a melt in your mouth, amazing tender experience....... the mentaiko was perfect......no words needed.... 🤤 🌿

Yakitori (~$6): a really gREAT attempt at yakirori!!! Ok this tasted like those yakitori meat sticks you get from toriq 😋😋 It was slightly too salty for my liking but I would eat this over normal meat any day 🤯

‘Pork’ Katsu Rice Set (~$18): again MINDBLOWING at how closely it mimicked real Pork katsu. In the words of my Brother “I could replace real meat with this”, and I couldn’t agree more. Consistency of the ‘Pork’ was solid and it lacked the oiliness and fattiness of real Pork 👍🏻

Mini pork rice bowl (~$5.80) was a small rice bowl and portion of meat was honestly quite little, but minced meat was lean and tasty🍛

Chicken teriyaki (~$11) was a generous portion for a side, and the fried skin stuck to the meat 🐔🐣 It was Super flavourful and the SAUCE OMGG it was probably the starrrr of this dishhhh 🤪

Lobster maki roll (~$18) was honestly very similar to many lobster salad sushi/ maki rolls I’ve had so I wouldn’t say it’s anything special! They have manyyy other rolls eg salmon mentaiko/ aburi scallop so try those instead! 🦀

Puff the magic dragon (~$16.90) was an amazing unagi and prawn tempura roll 😋 Unagi was charred and super smoky with a grilledish aftertaste? Prawn was well fried and crispy 🍤 I was honestly p shocked when I tasted how good it was....... 😍🍙

An affordable place for donburis!!!! They have chirashi don for $12.80!!!! Although I don’t eat but my momma says it’s pretty good for the price so newsflash!
.
Unagi don and avocado (~$16.80) didn’t think this combi would work out but it the avocado added a ‘break’ in the otherwise repetitive taste of the unagi sauce! Unagi sauce wasn’t too thick or salty, and the portion of Unagi was pretty generous for the price 😛 However it did get a lil bony though 🙁

Tried the Omakase menu from Uncle Kiisu (~$98 for 2 pax) and I’d say I only really liked the mains! .
Lobster and uni cream ramen was pretty good, but got jelak after awhile! Lobster tasted fresh and juicy and the Uni flavour was evident in the cream.
.
Wagyu beef MBS 5/6 was decent but it was kinda inconsistent, however the seasoning was tasty!
.
Truffle bourbons were a nice end to the meal and I particularly liked the chocolate with whisky since the alcohol taste was quite obvious haha! 😋
.
Didn’t like the starters Nor the first course since it was too messy and moist and the flavours just seemed too overwhelming.

Always wanted to try out uya bc I really love unagi and wanted to see how it compares to manman 🤪 There was no queue during dinner time on a weekday hence everything was pretty speedy.
.
Hitsumabushi M (~$35) was slightly pricier than ManMan. There was a generous portion of meaty unagi, grilled well and crispy (esp the skin)! Rice was sticky and moist, but imo the sauce wasn’t tasty enough (or maybe it simply wasn’t enough) bc some parts of the rice didn’t have much taste.
.
Dashi broth was really good and I liked how it wasn’t too salty Nor take away the sweetness of the unagi sauce. Overall I’d say uya’s unagi was less smoky than ManMan’s and I personally prefer ManMan but Uya is still really good.

Taco Mex Chicken (~$14) was supaaaa flavourful with salsa, chicken, a quarter avocado🥑🥑 corn chips and jap rice, didn’t really see the fusion in this except the rice? Cilantro crema was (apparently a herb cream lol I googled) but it didn’t really have a taste to it at all, instead just tasting creamy and had more texture than taste. Rice to ingredient and salsa ratio was so much so ended up leaving loads of white rice :-( overall nothing really to shout about.
.
Ice flat white (~$7) was average but one thing I liked was that there wasn’t LOADS of ice and there was actually a decent amount of coffee so it didn’t dilute.
