$168++ portion available too). Happy new year everyone! Hope you had a good evening with family for reunion.

If you love Japanese food like me, then this is the yusheng you'll love. Most of the ingredients on this Yusheng are imported from Japan, and that includes
salmon soft bone (soft collagen!), jelly fish, surfclams, and two whole fresh succulent Japanese abalone (the $168++ portion would come with 4 abalone).
🔸
What I found most addictive was that housemade cracker sprinkled on top - those are made from crabs. It's like prawn crackers, which is crisp and crumbly with genuine crab flavours. And the sauce that Chef Patrick is seen pouring in the photo is truffle infused. Indulgent, but really good. Available for dine in or takeaway.

Could this be the only dessert yusheng we have in Singapore? It's certainly my first. Now a classic at Antoinette, it has returned for you to crack the glowing golden chocolate egg that's resting on chocolates; almonds and cashews; mandar in orange butter cake, meringue kisses; and yam and sweet potato chips. Within the golden egg (swipe for photo) is a treasure trove of freshly diced and shredded pineapple, Thai green mango, red dragon fruit, and pomelo. The sauces to be poured over all these fruits and sweets are dressing of mandarin orange, plum, and gula melaka. Dessert lovers will have their sweet dreams come true here.

I tried getting reservations for Song Garden last CNY, but they were fully booked even before I knew reservations were opened. Hope they're still available this year for you since I'm posting this early.
🔸
Their CNY set menu starts from $88++ per person, or $898++ per table of 10, and goes up to $2688++ per table. Some specialty CNY dishes include: Braised Lobster with Pumpkin Puree served in Hot Stone Pot and Bacon Scallion Pencil (so good, will post this one day), Crispy Fried Live Bi Feng Tang Prawns, Thirteen Wonder London Duck, Pan-seared Scallops stuffed with Prawn Paste and topped with Crab Roe, and Double-boiled Peach Resin with Fungus and Red Dates.
🔸
This is their pen cai, classically filled to the brim with premium ingredients such as Japanese 8-head Abalone, Roast Duck, Crispy Pork Belly, Dried Oysters, Sea cucumber, and Scallops, all of which laboured over the stove for two and a half hours.
🔸
This is available for both dine-in and takeaway, and a $388++ option for regular potion is also available.

The truffle scent coming from this ham was irresistible, evident even before I opened the insulating bag that contained this. Imagine how much restraint I needed when shooting this, and clearly I don't have much - the time this ham took to move from the photo table to my dining table and to my tummy was way below record time.
🔸
The ham was delivered warm, and softer than other hams I've tried. It came with a meaty fibrous interior, and it was also less salty than others. My neighbor who's a huge fan of festive treats said this is the easily the best ham he has tried. For $168, you get 3kg of this ham (I'm guessing it can feed a party of 15 to 20) with wild mushroom sauce, and generous servings of buttered vegetables and truffled mash (less than half the actual servings were pictured here).
🔸
Besides this, you can also order the following from St Regis: Homemade Smoked Salmon with The St. Regis Singapore Tea Blend ($90+); Homemade Foie Gras Terrine ($108+); Roasted Lamb Leg with Truffle and Mustard ($188+); Whole Roasted Turkey infused with Truffle Oil ($248+); the quintessential log cakes ($68+ to $72+); cookies & breads ($28+ to $58+); and Christmas hampers (from $298+).

Delivery is available.

For this exquisite looking set, you get not just one, but five flavours representing each of the five celebrity chef restaurants in RWS. And they're very good - light, moist with well-balanced flavours.
🔸
The five flavors are:
1. SANTA by Forest 森, with contemporary Chinese flavours in a medley of honeyed mango compote, cashew nut friandise, jasmine tea and milk chocolate.
2. DULCE by Osia Steak and Seafood Grill, with hearty flavours of dark chocolate bark, assorted nuts, coriander, chocolate truffle and passion fruit curd.
3. HOLLY by Syun, with soya bean biscuits, caramelized pumpkin seed crunch, kumquat jam exterior and yuzu custard.
4. FESTIVE by Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora, with ginger bread sponge, vanilla mousse, hazelnut praline and a caramel centre.
5. IVORY by Fratelli Trattoria, with Italian chestnuts rich sponge cake with lemon- infused mascarpone cream, macaron and silver leaf.
🔸
And they are beautifully and individually hand crafted by their talented and numerous award-winning Chef Kenny Kong. Certainly a treat.

This has to be the most special log cakes available this year. There are actually 5 flavours here, and this collection embodies each of the five celebrity chef restaurants at RWS - Forest 森, Osia Steak and Seafood Grill, Fratelli Trattoria, Syun, and Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora.
🔸
And they are beautifully and individually hand crafted by Chef Kenny Kong. Looking exquisite, they make for one of the most presentable log cakes, especially more so when there are 5 big restaurant names attached to them.
🔸
And they taste really good as well. I've already tasted a few of them, and they are very light, very soft and moist. And none of those I've tried are too sweet too. Flavours are also creative, and well balanced. Chef Kenny is certainly an excellent pastry chef.
🔸
I'll share the close ups of these log cakes, and more details of their flavours in another post. Meanwhile, I really recommend you getting this, whether as a gift, or for own consumption 😋

Since young, my wife has always wished for an ice cream cake for her birthday. And every year, I forget. I'm thinking this ice cream log cake may be her wish come true, and three times because there's an ice cream cake for each of her birthday for the next 3 years.
🔸
This Three Wishes came with the classic flavours of Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate, beautifully presented as gift boxes complete with chocolate bows.
🔸
Besides this, there are also 'Matilda the Musical'-inspired ice cream log cakes; Magical Gold ($62, 1kg) made with Swensen’s signature Sticky Chewy Chocolate ice cream and encased with a gold-dusted dark chocolate ganache; Santa’s Everest Quest ($62, 1kg) which is Cookies ‘N’ Cream ice cream with white chocolate; and Visit To Lapland ($40, half kg) featuring Frosted Chocolate Malt ice cream with KIT KAT®.
🔸
From now till 10 December 2018, there's an early bird discount of 15% with selected credit cards, and a 10% discount after the early bird period.

I just tried this chocolate log cake last evening, and I love how rich the chocolate is. It has an outer later of rich chocolate gateau encasing the cake that's primarily chocolate mousse, but balanced by sharp lime and bergamot cremeux, while an apple compote centre also provided textural contrast. Be sure to mix the chocolate with the citrussy core, they're meant to balance each other.
🔸
And from now till 2 Dec, there's an early bird discount of 25%.
