The hedgehog just came back from Thailand 🇹🇭!

Or rather, it felt like it did 😜.

From now till 23 Oct 2019 (yes, only 1 week), indulge in an epicurean buffet spread of Thai fare at Sheraton Towers Singapore's The Dining Room specially curated by Guest Chef Surasak Pholdeeyiam (Chef Oui) from Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park.

While my eyes darted straight to the colourful desserts, there was a really wide range of authentic Thai dishes such as:
🔸Photo 1: Coconut Red Curry Crab (Gaeng Khuai Poo Bai Sha Pool)
🔸Photo 2: Watermelon Salad (Taeng Mo Pla Heang)
🔸Photo 3: Pomelo Chicken Salad (Yum Som-O Gai Cheek)
🔸Photo 4: Mango Crispy Fish Salad (Miang Pla Thord)
🔸Photo 5: Southern Thai Rice Salad (Khao Yum)
+ many other main courses and desserts. His favourite dish: the flavourful Green Curry Chicken (Gaeng Keow Wan Gai) with rich undertones of coconut milk, paired with some fragrant Jasmine Rice.

We kicked off our long weekend with a buffet! 😍 To celebrate our nation's birthday 🇸🇬, Food Exchange specially curated a wide variety of Chinese, Indian and Malay dishes such as Bak Kut Teh, Black Pepper Slipper Lobster, Laksa, Prawn Mee, Kueh Pie Tee, Beef Rendang and Indian Rojak.

Our favourites included the White Pepper Sri Lankan Crab (wok-fried in rich stock and aromatic white pepper gravy) and Durian Pengat (highly popular!). You must give them a try!

Went for buffets for the last 2 consecutive days! Am still feeling a bit guilty, but no regrets.

For this Hilton buffet, overall, I found it super value-for-money. How to find a decent buffet for less than S$35/pax nowadays? My favourite were the fresh sashimi and cheesecake. While there were quite a few tables of guests from a business event, the crowd cleared in 1+hour and it was really nice and quiet.
.
Highlights of the buffet included the cold seafood bar, fresh sashimi and sushi, made-to-order noodles, Indian food, Chinese dim sum, local favourites like satay, desserts such as chocolate fondue and their signature cheesecake etc.
.
Buffet is available till end September 2019. Ooh and I guess I better go for more yoga sessions this week! 🧘‍♀️

I usually only take a simple breakfast (oats with chia seeds) on weekdays, so such breakfasts are pure indulgence.

The breakfast selection here at @OscarsAtConrad is really wide, ranging from the usual live egg station, pastries, porridge to a juices counter and even waffles with ice cream. Interestingly, the Hainanese kaya jam was really memorable. The coconut flavours were really intense and I wouldn't be surprised if the spread was freshly made in-house. 😍

Featuring this cheese platter 🧀 from the buffet dinner (S$88++). I liked the soft creamy brie cheese most! I generally prefer food with milder tastes, so this was just perfect. Just pair it with those plain crackers, so good. 😍

The long weekend is here! If you haven't planned anything yet, I have a suggestion for you - go for @ShangrilaSG's Sunday Grill Lunch (S$68++) with a main course, dessert and free flow of appetisers. We like it here because it's quiet, feels more exclusive than a buffet, everything is served and of course the food is good. 😉

Interestingly, our favourite was the (more traditional) caesar salad 🥗 which came in a light splash of anchovies-based dressing. We ordered quite a few servings of it and really loved how fresh the greens were. We wouldn't even have minded if it came without the dressing - that's how fresh it was. 👍

Starting off my buffet with a plate of greens 🥗! That's how I make sure I don't overindulge. Some say it's silly because I'm not getting my money's worth. But I'd rather not end up feeling guilty after such a hearty meal.😅

Btw, the greens here are very fresh. One of the best stations amongst all the food here. Remember to take some if you are here! 👍
