Amazingly fresh, the natural flavours of this delicate kanpachi are allowed to shine with the minimalist, synergistic combination of premium exotic ingredients such as daikon, toki apple and sorrel garden. It is no wonder this delicious premier sashimi-grade fish has taken the culinary world by storm.

This was probably the highlight of our 4 course set lunch (S$55++) at Michelin starred Alma and we certainly look forward to coming back to see what the talented chefs here will come up with next in their repertoire of new dishes. Delightful, surreal and simply divine. 😉

This was served with a generous shaving of truffle, specially by Chef Senia himself. Being the highest grade of wagyu, this slice was well-marbled, tender and almost melt-in-the-mouth. Need I say more? Just simply divine.

Not a tea, but a soup! 👍

For starters, we had Yan Ting's signature, award-winning "Kung Fu" soups - the Double-boiled Sea Whelk Consomme with Black Garlic served in Teapot and Double-boiled Oxtail Soup with Supreme Chinese Tonic.
.
Both were masterfully crafted and I would best describe it as an intense concoction that brings out the essence of each ingredient. Served piping hot, the sea whelk and oxtail offered very distinctive flavours, with a lot of depth to it.We both enjoyed it but wished that their portions were bigger. A few sips from that little teapot and it was finished. But what a beautiful, nourishing concoction it was!

Highly recommended for diners who need that extra nourishment after a stressful day of work. This is soup for nourishing the soul. TGIF! ❤️

The long weekend is here! If you haven't planned anything yet, I have a suggestion for you - go for @ShangrilaSG's Sunday Grill Lunch (S$68++) with a main course, dessert and free flow of appetisers. We like it here because it's quiet, feels more exclusive than a buffet, everything is served and of course the food is good. 😉

Interestingly, our favourite was the (more traditional) caesar salad 🥗 which came in a light splash of anchovies-based dressing. We ordered quite a few servings of it and really loved how fresh the greens were. We wouldn't even have minded if it came without the dressing - that's how fresh it was. 👍

We were back again at @ShangrilaSG to enjoy the Sunday Grill Lunch (S$68++) with unlimited appetisers. This beef was topped with a pan-seared foie gras which was rich in flavours and deeply satisfying - a perfect reward for that special weekend where you would just want to unwind and relax with gastronomic indulgences.

So please indulge with me in this table of desserts and sweet treats. Throwback to the wonderful Sunday Brunch where we enjoyed a variety of premium dishes such as oysters, lobsters, roasted ribeye, crispy pork roulade, a wonderful assortment of desserts and most memorably, a Japanese A5 wagyu beef with truffle specially served by Chef @DavidSenia.

I am usually not fond of the yam desserts as they tend to be overly sweet and the paste often too sticky for my liking. But I found this dessert to be warm, light and elegant with subtle tones of sweetness without the sweetness overpowering the entire dish. Of course, hashima is known to be nourishing for the lung and kidney, promotes metabolism and moisturises the skin too.

I also liked that it was served in a young coconut and could not help but scrape every part of the coconut on the sides for every last bit of coconut flesh. So good!

It has been such a cold rainy day today here in Singapore. How has it been for you?

Li Bai has always been one of our favourite Chinese restaurants in Singapore. I remember years back going on dates with my then-girlfriend, and now wife here ❤️. They are known for serving top notch food accompanied by exotic premium ingredients.

I recently experienced the exquisite Cantonese cuisine curated by Executive Chef Chung for Li Bai's 2019 Chinese New Year menu, and one the most memorable dishes was this lohei platter.
.
A generous serving of sliced hamachi, specially flown in from Japan, and a dollop of salmon roe are served atop a melange of quintessential ingredients like pomelo, yam, pumpkin seeds, sweet potato, white radish, carrot and pickled ginger. The salmon roe also adds a slight tinge of saltiness and was a burst of flavours.

Indeed, this was certainly one of the more lavish Lo Heis that I have had and the Australian lobster, salmon roe and hamachi added a touch of grandeur and luxury to it. Swipe ⬅️ for more photos. Available for takeaway or dine-in.
