A mix of spicy-sour and fragrant dishes with distinct flavours

Minced beef is stir-fried with chopped long beans, chillies and basil, served over rice with a fried egg on top. The combination of the basil, spicy chilli and fish/soya sauce made this dish appetising with good enough heat for that numbing sensation. I like it that there was an added crunchness from the long beans in each spoonful.

A taste of Bangkok's Thai-style Hainanese chicken rice. The rice was flavourful but not as fragrant as what one can expect from Singapore-styled ones. The chicken was tender and succulent; and unlike the spicy garlicky chilli sauce we are used to, their special sauce was more tangy with chopped ginger and chilli padi. It complemented the rice well with a nice kick to it. Overall worth a try for something different.
