By the folks behind Punch and the now-defunct Ronin comes this elegant creperie set in Raffles Arcade Hotel. You're here for a relaxing afternoon with good friends who'll share good food and a nice conversation with you. Start with the savory Salami & Potatoes Galette ($18), where roasted potatoes, brie, an oozy egg and crispy salami make for a lovely dish. Then, move onto a coffee and Crepe with Burnt Caramel and Butter ($16) that is sure to please.

Open for dinner from Friday to Sunday is chef Bjorn Shen's new concept housed in the courtyard of Artichoke. Grab three foodie friends and reserve your seats for dinner (omakase, from $650 for four pax) at what might be the world's tiniest pizza bar. Knockouts include the soupy clam-laden Pizza Vongole, the umamilicous squid ink Pizza Black, and the show-stopping Pizza Alla Banh Mi — a pizza-wich with kurobuta pork, pickles, herbs and pate mayo. P.S. Bookings open at 12pm on the 24th of each month.

To everyone's delight, owners Chalith and Nur are back with irresistible bakes! Find their inconspicuous bakery at The Longhaus on fringe of Upper Thomson Road, given away only by the colourful stools outside the otherwise blank storefront. Savour the Onion Pizza ($14) or Vegan Bialy ($6), and let yourself be tempted by sweet treats like the Spelt Almond Financier ($5) and Banana Walnut Date Tea Cake ($5.50). Don't forget to have a Filter Coffee ($4.50) or delicious Cold Bew ($5) made from Cata Coffee beans.

Drop by this unpretentious, industrial cafe on Jalan Klapa for great coffee. Have the Spro with Milk ($5) for a potent yet creamy coffee perfect for a midday pick-me-up. You could also opt for a pourover made with beans roasted in-house and even buy a bag of beans for home!

An Aussie-style cafe by day and a contemporary tapas resto-bar by night, this casual bistro fits like a glove on buzzy Purvis Street. Come for a hearty brunch and tuck into the melt-in-your-mouth Braised Pork Belly ($16) stew served with mushroom, pickled radish, a molten lava egg and rice on the side. Also good is the flavourful tomato-based Oxtail Ragout Rigatoni ($16) topped with shaved Asiago cheese.

Another bakery in the area? Noone's complaining. This cozy open-concept bakery is where you should come to for coffee and fresh bakes made with love. Try their unique take on the Grilled Cheese ($12) — crusty sourdough layered with tomato chutney, smoked cheddar, gruyere, mozzarella and parmesan. Keep your eye out for their fluffy Sticky Bun and the Savoury Scroll with pesto and cheese.

Originally Stateland Cafe, Brotherbird has moved a few doors down on Bali Lane. They now serve creative croissants and coffee in a minimalist space, and are expected to serve brunch on the second floor later in February. You won't go wrong with the Matcha Chocolat Roll ($4), Rocher Croissant ($5) or wonderfully tart Lemon Meringue Croissant ($5). Wash it all down with an Iced White ($5).

Set in Design Orchard, you now know where to find a good cuppa when you're in town. They offer a robust and milky White Coffee ($5) made with the Dark Matter blend that Burppler Evan Mua describes as "aromatic chocolate-like nuttiness". Pair your coffee with pastries sourced from Bakehaus — the flaky Chocolate Almond Croissant will satisfy.

The second outlet of burger rockstars, Shake Shack, is set in a gorgeous, crisp white building on Neil Road. Exclusive to this outlet is the Chick’n Shack ($9.20) that features succulent fried chicken breast and buttermilk herb mayo. You will also find comfort in their classic 'Shroom Burger ($10.80) and The Shack Stack ($14.30). According to Burppler SnapBurp 📸, ""there was no insane queue and the wait was merely 10 minutes for the food collection"" — go go go!

New in Great World City is this tiny kiosk-diner by the folks of Plentyfull in Millenia Walk. For a quick pastry, have the Truffle Hustle ($4.80), a truffle-infused croissant. If you need something heartier, order the Corned Beef & Jalapeno Sandwich ($14.90) — grilled sourdough toast with grainy mustard and provolone cheese, served with a side of pickles and fries.

This luxe dessert bar in Great World City is the brainchild of multi-Michelin stars Chef Juan Amador and his protégé, Hüseyin Turan. All desserts can be paired with tea specially curated and blended for each dessert. Choose the refreshing and tangy Moon Walk ($25 for a plated dessert and tea pairing) featuring spongecake, crumble, yogurt, nut butter and coconut. Also good is their non-creamy take on the St Sebastian cheesecake KALEA65.

Grab the girls and swing by for brunch at this cosy monochromatic restaurant nestled in heart of Tanglin's Phoenix Park. Partnering up with local produce farms, this restaurant is all about sustainable cooking. Burppler Xing Wei Chua describes Linh’s Banh Mi ($14) as "shatteringly crisp", made complete with grilled lemongrass pork, pickles, herbs and a side salad. Other options include The Chef's Big Breakfast ($26) featuring Toulouse sausages, braised green beans, poached eggs and crispy bacon.
