This plant based Chicken Rice really tricked us. The chicken flavour rice tastes very similar to the real one. And the crispy skin of the mock chicken meat feels like the real texture! It also comes with a bowl of Szechuan Veg Pork Soup. The presentation is impressive and definitely recommended this dish! $9.90++

The Nasi Lemak comes with Coconut rich alchemy blue butterfly pea rice, and a variety of plant based Fish Fillet, Otah, Ikan Bills and Szechuan Veg Pork Soup. The presentation is appealing and so is the food! $9.90++

Lotus Vegetarian is an upscale Chinese vegetarian restaurant serving elevated versions of tze char and local dishes such as nasi lemak. With a spacious interior, foor-to-ceiling glass windows, high ceilings, wooden furniture and finishings, and bare concrete floors, it very much channels a Muji vibe.

They have to be commended on their completely meat-free nasi lemak, which in keeping with the healthy theme, comes with low GI, high fibre, blue pea-coloured Alchemy fibre rice and a plethora of sides which roughly approximate what you might find in a conventional nasi lemak. As part of the lunch set, it also comes with a herbal soup. Pretty value for money if you ask me.

What special about having their Chinese kung fun tea here is that the tea are serve in a traditional way, which allow you to have a few brews. $4.80++ per pax with min. 2 pax

Replaced with mushrooms fillings, the bun itself was pan fried perfectly. $4.80++

The texture of Vegetarian siew mai was similar to the meat siew mai but definitely a healthier one, as it was made from plant-based. $4.20++

I enjoyed this as the beancurd rolls was steamed perfectly and delicious. A great one even as a vegetarian roll. $3.80++

Beside serving the main dishes, they also have good selections of vegetarian dim sum here.

Their carrot cake was sticky inside with crispy skin, but it felt a bit oily to me. $4.80++

Lotus Vegetarian has recently opened a new place at Royal Square @ Novena, taking over the former space of Baan Ying.

They now have a spacious space while retrain the former interior design.

Offering extensive selection of menu that focusing on plant-based foods.

For the local delight, you could try their stir fried laksa. It was still wet to me, much like a pasta. It would be great if they can make it drier. $7.90++

[CNY Menu from Today] The texture for these noodles were perfectly silky and smooth. I was told it's specially imported from Taiwan, and was cooked with premium black sesame oil vegetarian chicken and sauce. The accompanying herbal soup was also fragrant with its use of Chinese herbs.

This dish is part of their CNY menu which caters for 4 to 10 persons. Other healthy creations include a homemade vegetarian fish with fruit salad (my fav dish of the evening), this longevity noodles (as pictured), and a Golden Bowl of Fortune Pen Cai which was brimming with over 22 wholesome ingredients.

Both Lotus restaurants are open all days during CNY with normal opening ours.
The CNY menu is available from today till 2 March for Lotus Vegetarian at Quality Hotel, and available from 14 February to 2 March for Lotus Kitchen Chinatown Point.

Good selection of dishes, including dim sum, sushi, curry, mala hotpot, vegetables, salad, western food and dessert
