Whenever I need to ’nutritionalize’ myself, you will find me at a Muji cafe. Here’s an easy Saturday afternoon lunch over a long weekend with friends, sumptuous and nutritious, as always. Savouring every bite from healthy rice to tender duck bites, pumpkin, chilled mushroom pasta, heart warming creamy carrot soup, salmon with matcha latte etc … it’s all perfect over catching up with buddies! I could do this every day…

- matcha pear roll ($6.90) (50% off for drink included in the set) (3.5/5)

I was trying their matcha roll with red bean before before they changed dessert menu and added pear into the swiss roll. I didn't like the idea having fruit inside the swiss roll especially tea flavour based. I felt that pear was quite hard to chew with swiss roll but it's (pear) quite sour complemented well with matcha (bitter)

no long time to order muji cafe for a long time since poly era and decided to order 2 deli set ($12.80) because I want to try their dessert as quite tempted by this.

- prawn couscous salad with yuzu sesame dressing (cold deli) (4.5/5)

prawn is much fresh and not that hard. they included veg such as broccoli and cherry tomato, a bit sour taste for the sauce but I felt that it's quite good for me.

- kohi pork & king oyster mushroom (hot deli) (3.5/5)

sauce was quite thick and not that waterish. kohi pork is not that hard even though braised for a few hours. I felt that king oyster mushroom was quite hard to chew through.

Top Favourite Deli Set (S$16.80)
Consists of Miso Soup, 16 Grain Rice and 4 Deli Dishes
Prawn Couscous Salad with Yuzu Dressing

Golden Sesame Crusted Salmon, Shoyu Sesame Leek Sauce
Came with a well braised till very slow hairy gourd

Kelp & Beancurd Skin with Hijiki & Black Fungus
Not sure why this one reminded one of Chinese style appetizers with its slightly spicy taste and Beancurd skin.

Sakura Chicken with Curry Miso and Dried Chilli
Would be better if it was hot and crispy.

I tend to stay away from chocolate that’s not dark, but this light milk choc cream wasn’t overly sweet & paired well with the tangy sweet raspberry marmalde. The crunchy hazenut praline base gave good textural contrast & reminded me of Four Leaves’ Coco Exotic😋😋

no sweet ptt taste, somehow got rum taste instead. other than candied chestnut there wasn’t much chestnut taste either. but I wldn’t say it was a bad dessert as it still tasted pretty decent, just very...mellow
