The long queues for @petitpain.sg are a testament to how good their bakes and viennoiseries are.

One of my favourites apart from their Apple Danish is their Escargot. Buttery, flaky pastry filled with raisins - how can something so simple be so good. Just look at all those laminated layers. It's amazing how Petit does them oh so well while keeping their prices so low - any other typical bake shop would have sold this for 6-8 bucks. It's no wonder people keep coming back for more - and that includes moi of course.

The best viennoiseries you can find in Singapore is none other than Petit Pain. With only small batches baked daily, these delicious pastries are always sold out by the afternoon.

One of my favourites is their Apple Danish - buttery and flaky apple filled pastry topped with sugar. It's essentially a mini apple pie!

Touted as perhaps one of the best viennoiseries you can find on this little island - Petit Pain is no stranger to the local pastry scene.

Long queues start forming at noon - everyone eager to lay their hands on the pastries. Run by just two people, this petit store churns out only three batches of their delicious baked goods daily; you literally have to arrive early to secure your baked goods that can then only be collected at a particular timing. It's just THAT good.

I managed to snag all five viennoiseries on their menu. The highlight for me was definitely the Apple Danish, followed by the Orange & Chocolate escargot. Flaky, buttery and filled with so many laminated layers - you can see why they're the best.

We always forget to preorder (only available on weekdays) and end up with whatever leftover we can snag even upon arriving within the first 15 min of opening hour.

We take whatever we can get from one of the best bakery in Singapore.

• Orange & Choc Escargot ($3.80): 6.5/10
Okie I’m not a huge fan of this kind of orange in my food so I knew I wouldn’t really enjoy it as much as a lot of y’all; don’t come at me pls 🥲

• Apple Danish ($3.80): 7/10
The apples were slightly tangy and really aromatic but tbh I enjoyed the pastry the most!! I loved how the pastry remained crisp and held up the fillings really well 🤤

• Pain au Chocolat ($3.50): 7.5/10
Choc batons wrapped within the pastry - what else can we ask for?? (Okie apart from even more choc keke) 🤩🤤

• Classic Croissant ($3): 8.5/10
This is defo my FAV and it’s very indicative that plain things can be great too!!! The layers were so flaky and buttery and I kept some for the next day. They tasted as amazing after reheating!! 🥺

The apple danish was also crisp outside, with a warm and earthy apple filling encased within. It reminded me a little of ritz's apple strudel, with goopy cinnamony soft apple cubes.
