Roast (The COMMONS)

86 Wishlisted
With a satisfying brunch menu, and a killer tapas selection in the evening, Roast is the place to visit in Bangkok for a good meal in a gorgeous setting. The highlight of course, is the artisinal, single origin coffee that is roasted in a beautiful black-and-gold coffee roaster. Their dessert menu is nothing short of amazing as well, with light strawberry shortcakes, red velvet raspberry cake, and their delicious apple tart!

Because of my limited stomach storage, I don’t usually finish up the bread that are served. But I’d make an exception for this plate right here. Crispy on the outside along with a slight char, I spread margarine over it and it’s equivalent to happiness spreading all over your body because you’re on vacation and you’re having good food in a cafe with good ambience and a decent air conditioning that allows you to escape from the heat that seems to be piercing your skin. ⁣Bliss

Good breakfast, with great ambience and an even amazing company. I’m at peace ☺️

Lunch Set 340 baht

Appetiser - Potato Chowder / Mixed Leaf Caesar
Mains - Open Face Sandwich / Bacon & Garlic
Drinks - Fresh coconut / Coffee
Dessert - Triple Chocolate Profiteroles / Millefeuille w/ Vanilla Pastry Cream

Fav cafe and must visit for my Bangkok trips! Nice ambiance and good food. Price tend to be on the higher side (almost like SG cafe) but set lunch is really value for money.

While looking through the menu, the Smoked Salmon Rosti (320 THB) caught my eye, as it comes with my all time favourite - potatoes, together with smoked salmon, a side of salad, horseradish & sourcream.

Don’t be fooled by the portion, it does fill you quite a fair bit, but of course, with enough space for you to have a coffee, or two.

made of homemade tagliatelle, bacon and mushroom, cloaked in rich truffle cream sauce and dusted with parmesan cheese. The aromatic truffle paired with finely made pasta, a well-executed dish that we can’t resist ordering when we are here!

Though I have been here numerous times, I always ended up ordering the same few dishes such as the Truffle Alfredo (280 THB) made from handmade tagliatelle in a rich and creamy sauce with crispy bacon and mushrooms. Such a comforting plate of pasta that every single time I had it, I always end up wanting more. This trip, I managed to try a couple of other dishes such as the Hand Cut Fries, Grilled Corn and a pairing of Chocolate Choux puffs that went down the tummy so easily. Everything from the ambience to food brings a feel-good factor that Roast has been my regular cafe spot whenever I’m in Bangkok and till the next time I’m there, I had to reluctantly bid goodbye to the Land of Smiles.
