Chocolate + Coffee + Mint = Wicked Mocha

Never tried this drink anywhere before so definitely try it while you drop Ronin! Itโ€™s wickedly effective to wake me up from my morning sleepyhead.

I really the ambience, especially the huge table where 10 people can sit together. Best place to have morning conversation with some interesting strangers. No wonder this place is super popular within expats community.

Ronin's famous wicked mocha ($6) is a charming blend of mint and mocha โ€” in a way that tastes like atas liquefied peppermint chocolate.
The mocha base itself was smooth and had a lighter coffee taste and instead leaned towards a richer chocolate-forward profile, which made for a good match for the subtle but still noticeable kick of mint.

The scrambled eggs here are really creamy and well done - but yet I feel that this dish as a whole wasnโ€™t particularly mind-blowing. The toast was pretty boring and the portobellos werenโ€™t the tastiest - but I must still say i love that Ronin is pretty value for money for brunch in town, and Iโ€™d still recommend it.

The texture of the French toast was amazing - so soft and thick yet not too cloying. There was a huge dollop of mascarpone cream, as well as a really fresh-tasting berry compote and pistachio crumble. Probably one of the best French toasts Iโ€™ve ever had.

Wicked Mocha (~$6), a mint mocha, had a strong mint taste which hit you the second you taste it ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ It was like a mint chocolate in a coffee, and I liked the balance of sweet/minty!

Savoury French Toast (~$16) consisting of braised apple and bacon, was heavenly ๐Ÿคค Ridiculously pillowy and fluffy in the centre, the egginess added greatly to the soft and wobbly texture of the French toast ๐Ÿž Hazelnut butter and bacon gave that slight salty contrast to the sweetened French toast drenched in maple syrup ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ Only comment was that the toast did get slightly inconsistent (not fluffy all the way) and some parts were harder
