Some customers MAY confuse this with Singapore’s Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee.

With that many “NO BRANCH IN SINGAPORE” signs up, I think it is clear the two eateries have NO relation whatsoever.

The price has also doubled from the previous, from 50 baht to 100 baht (SGD$4.10). Not really worth it? bit.ly/sabx2 #DFDBangkok #DFDNoodles

Finally managed to try the famed wanton mee in Bangkok! Maybe cause I’m not a fan of wanton noodles but I didn’t find anything special with it. The noodles were clumpy and rather bland, the entire dish was pretty dry but the crab meat was really sweet and fresh (tho there were only 2 small pieces) I heard their standards has dropped pretty drastically so, 🤷🏼‍♀️

Noodles were q with no alkaline taste but on the bland side even after tossing with lard. The pork trotter (300b) was good - tender, and I like how there weren't any porky taste and not overly salty. #burpple

So I had to try it myself.
To be honest, the dish is rather average in my opinion. Portion is rather small but that is typical of most Ba Mee in Bangkok. However, the price costs 100 Baht compared to the previous price that was around 50 baht.
Hence, I will just give it an average rating of 2.5/5. I believe you can can more value for money Ba Mee at Yaowarat district at Bangkok.

You'll see a queue (mostly Singaporeans) forming before the store opens at 9am, and you'll know that's the store.

And so we tried the famous wanton mee, since it's located a stone throw away from our hotel. Nothing to "WOW" about the mee other than slightly oily due to pork lard used and that they add crab meat. Wanton was yummy with a tinge of sweetness that I might just go back for.

It is flavoured with lots of pork lard oil, which is why it is very fragrant. Noodles were springy as well, so it is delightful to chew on.

I believe in paying for good quality food. But I do not like the service here, nor the disproportionately priced noodles and pork intestines. This is 100 baht, which means that it would cost S$8 to order two bowls to get the portion you'll get in Singapore.

This is a good example of how a good bowl of nostalgic wanton mee can be destroyed by hype.
