Insisting on roasting the traditional Cantonese way using premium ingredients in the marination and in a custom-built roaster, the resulting meats come out beautifully crispy and fully-flavoured. Between the 3 of us, we shared two plates of a trio of roasted duck, char siew and roast pork as one plate is never going to be enough. We each have our favourites, which is perfect as it means that each of the roast meat appeals to a different audience. For me, my vote has got to go to the roast pork for the biscuit-like skin, a good ratio of meats to fats and balanced flavour as most outside tend to be on the saltier side but the ones here will not make you reach out to the water immediately. Oh and do you know that instead of the generic cucumbers, the stall actually serves the roast meats with HK kai lan? This special touch is definitely a welcoming surprise and more alike to the HK traditional method. Do note that as 大味皇 is located inside an industrial building, the stall is only opened on weekdays from morning till the meats get sold out, which is probably around 2-3pm.
