I also tried the ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ป ($15) and the ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐บ๐ผ๐ป & ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐ป ($10), and both were magnificent as well. Its a big loss to Punggol that Otoko Ten Ten will be closing, and I canโt wait for its new location!
We also loved the ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐บ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ธ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐ผ๐น๐น ($6), which came with generous amounts of mentaiko sauce.
All the sashimi plates consist of six thick slices and you canโt go wrong with any of them. The ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ (yellowtail, $10) was impeccable.
Iโm saddened that Otoko Ten Ten, known for its thick sashimi slices, will be closing on 31 December 2022. At the time of my visit it hasnโt found a new location yet.
The ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ถ ๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ($12) is always an astute choice. It came with two slices each of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, swordfish, squid and, interestingly, smoked duck sitting atop fluffy rice and topped with ebiko. All the seafood were supremely fresh and succulent, and the duck was not too bad either.
The last item we tried was the ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐บ๐ผ๐ป ๐ ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ถ ๐๐ผ๐ป ($10). The salmon slices here, like those in the sushi, were equally enthralling. The mentaiko was a bit too creamy for my liking, but this was still a very good bowl of Japanese rice.
The ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ถ ๐๐ผ๐ป ($10) was filled with a bountiful amount of tiny seafood cubes, including salmon, tuna and octopus, which were excellently complemented by tamago and cucumber. The sushi rice, too, was impeccable. Seasoned with mirin, sugar and vinegar, it was very tasty and served as the perfect vehicle to carry the seafood.
We also ordered the ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐บ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ธ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ต๐ถ ($6). The salmon sashimi was fresh and the tiny orbs of ikura provided bursts of delight.
