From the Burpple community

Silky smooth with chocolaty notes; the cracked black pepper, though interesting, takes some getting used to.

😴 The cane sugar almost looks like gold dust and that frothy creama was a nice touch to their slightly acidic coffee. Their flagship store in Causeway bay, Hong Kong will always be my fav outlet for their hanging fairylights and window ledge and wooden tables kind of ambience.. #Burpple #burppletastemakers #causewaybay #hongkong #coffee

As you bring the coffee to your mouth, you gets whiff of overpowering sweetness and start to wonder whether it's a bad idea but as the coffee hits your mouth, it's smooth coffee just with a hint of sweetness! The milk is steamed and froth then topped w a little brown sugar. The brown sugar really goes a long way. Coffee academics did a pretty good job in SG, but I'll always love the ambience at their flagship store in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The woody interior, the lights that are draped along the window, and that little window opening ledge. It allows you to hide away from the hustle & bustle of Hong Kong, but doesn't shut you off completely ☕️

monday's coffee - we went straight to the source

3 munchies: Intrigued by the menu that says "TCA's signature wafu eggs Benedict sauce" initially, but it got me wondering where the umaminess was from the wafu upon tasting it. While I appreciate the innovation of modern restaurants, some sauces ought to remain as classics like the creamy, buttery Hollandaise with a tinge of acidity.

Sitting on the toasted English muffin was a big slice of Canadian smoked salmon and a nicely (and slowly) poached egg. Just give me the authentic Hollandaise already!

4.5 munchies: Part of the Globally Inspired Coffee for the month of December, the Toasted S'mores is a dessert coffee inspired by the city of Berlin. Topped with marshmallows, digestive biscuits, and chocolate and caramel sauce, the medium roast TCA House Blend became so much more delightful with the subtle sweetness and textures – super apt for this holiday season!
