We love the fusion dishes at #restaurantlabyrinth and the fact that most ingredients are locally sourced! The postcards are definitely a nice touch to remind you what you are having.(and they actually let you keep them after that!)

The “chicken” satay, only one is real chicken while the other two are other types of protein. Shall not spoil the surprise for you. Certainly very flavourful, if we weren’t told from the start that it’s not all chicken, we might have mistaken it for all chicken!

The silver perch otah is served in a broth with fish fat. 😯 The clarity of the fish fat shows how untainted the fish is. Not fed w hormones nor antibiotics. Just natural good omega 3. 😋

The ang moh chicken rice certainly had all the flavours of a good chicken rice but the rice was a bit of a cross between a risotto and glutinous rice that’s made using chef han’s grandmother’s secret recipe when she cooked for ang mohs. 😋

On top of their 16 live cooking stations, you will find some local comforts like yong tau fu, chilli crab, char kway teow, oyster omelette, pork leg noodles. My favorites included the yong tau fu, chilli crab and oyster omelette! 😋

After feasting on all the local foods, rmb to feast on all their daily live stations like laksa, Indian food, Thai food, Satay, Japanese, western, seafood (for Thursdays)
.

But definitely leave space for the durians that include Golden Phoenix, Red Prawn and D13! Also enjoy the old school titbit cart and find all your childhood fav snacks! P.S I haven’t seen the teddy snack for the longest time!!! Didn’t know it was still around.

Miso cod belly, a special that has been up for a week. Not sure how long it will be up till.
But the flavour and doneness was just perfect. The turmeric pickled cauliflower was an interesting combi that worked!

Everything is personally handcrafted and created by Sous Chef Chris Lee. Most of the desserts has got alcohol in it from bailey tiramisu to kirsh cherry brownie..etc. I could only enjoy the non alcoholic ones like the passion fruit tart and chocolate tart. Had a teeny bite of the choc fudge and it was strong! .

p.s: desserts are going at 1 for 1 till further notice. So better get it while stocks last! .

Located on 33rd floor of courtyard Marriott (Novena) is the highest bar,Urbana in my hood! And now they are serving brunch from 11-4pm on weekends!

With the pool right next to you and a gorgeous view on the other side, it’s definitely a great place to hang out with your friends or for a date. .

Food is cooked ala minute with the cooking station right inside and it’s perfectly priced between $16++ to $22++!

Urbana late breakfast ($22++) with choice of pork/chicken/ beef sausage + streaky bacon + sour dough + sous vide egg + homemade hollandaise sauce & hashbrown. The sour dough is definitely one of the best I’ve had in sg. 😋 the hashbrown is not those mass manufactured ones that will leave you feeling oily, it’s crisp and almost like a croquette. .

Classic eggs Benedict ($18++) with English muffin + leg of ham + poached eggs & homemade hollandaise sauce. A typical brunch favourite that is well executed. .

Dashi risotto and Juicy fried chicken is one of the mains you can choose from.

The risotto is delicious and full of flavour, while the fried enoki adds a nice crunch to the risotto.

Except now there’s a 2 weeks special of Szechuan dishes! Chef du fei from Szechuan Shangri-la is bringing his take of traditional Szechuan cuisine to Singapore. Except he couldn’t bring ghost peppers to make his mega spicy mala sauce.

Aren’t you salivating while looking at these tantalizing Szechuan dishes? I especially liked the 口水鸡(mouthwatering chicken), it definitely makes you salivate and want more!
.
.
Not forgetting to mention, the line’s laksa is still the best I’ve had. I love the strong coconut milk in their laksa!
.
.
And their desserts as usual is some hits and a lot of misses 🙈 Strawberry litchi and a chocolate cake that I forgot the name were definitely the best desserts!

Marinated pork knuckle w soy sauce ($16) Super flavorful and tender meat that just melts in your mouth 😋

Deep fried stuffed crab meat in shell ($28) how cute is that crab shape holder! A crab croquette stuffed full with crab meat with onions and cream. It can get a bit jelat after a while but by the time you feel it, you would have realised that you have consumed it all 🤪

There are supposed to be 8 colors on the plate. My favourite fashion for Yu Sheng must be the fried yam strips nowadays.and did I mention how much I love the freshness + sourness + crunchiness + sweetness of Yu Sheng?

We were lucky to be able to reserve a dinner at #yusfamilykitchen as they have almost stopped all their operations in Sichuan so as to prepare for their move to LA next year. This private kitchen used to be popular among govt officials until recent changes in the Chinese govt in the past few years. .

In the quiet neighborhood of West coast Ayer rajah is this hidden gem! The BKT($6.00) is herbally, balanced and super comforting for the rainy season. And always a perfect combination w warm braised peanuts & salted vege ($1.50)

The braised pig trotter was super tender and flavorful. In a lot of BKT shops there’s a limited number of braised items you can get but here you can get trotter, pork belly, bean curd and egg! Definitely value for money! .

Super juicy goose meat and crunchy goose skin. 😋 Hands down better than the other Michelin starred Kam’s (totally non bias opinion😛). .

And I realised I really don’t like hk styles char Siew? No caramel sauce, no sweetness, just hoisin, soy sauce, salt, w a tinge of pepper in theirs. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤷‍♀️
