Part of their more premium range, but nothing too impressive - tiramisu still best works soaked in liquor and coffee with thick mascarpone cheese, of which this cake was lacking. But canโ€™t ask for much at this price point (plus they were having a random 40% off), and definitely do try their other more interesting (and better done) flavours (like lychee martini) ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

Somehow deals seem to be attracted to me, cause there was a random one-day-only 40% off this already really cheap cake?? Good place to get cheap cakes that donโ€™t compromise on the taste, the lychee cream layered between layers of soft sponge cake was perfect! Martini taste may not be too strong, but definitely an exotic flavour done nicely and made available at a very competitive price ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

At $3.70, I expected it to be along the standards of their famous lychee martini or pulut hitam, but this was on the dry side. Flavor quite mild. Pandan taste not strong, and the coconut was in the form of dessicated coconut. Nice contrast in textures. Basically a very simple pandan cake with coconut flakes.

An ideal for a pulut hitam cake. The taste of pulut hitam comes through perfectly, while it isn't too sweet, and both textures were on point as well

Orange cream was quite fragrant but the chocolate taste is stronger when you eat both layers tgt. If only the chocolate less sweet it would be fantastic

This cake was part of the Nostalgic series. I love blueberries and this looked really yummy. There was a layer of blueberry jam in the middle. I wished it had a stronger blueberry flavor. The jam was too sweet so this cake was not for me.

Besides the lychee martini, the ladies behind the counter also strongly recommended this one. This was my fav cake out of all that I bought. At first I thot it was the lychee martini. Until I ate this one. Definitely a must-try for pulut hitam fans. The taste was spot-on and the cake was moist and delicious. Not too sweet. I enjoyed every bite.

This was under the โ€œnostalgicโ€ series and got us really excited. Also the cheapest cake available that night. But it was far too sweet for me.

I liked the pale lavender and purple color of this cake. But the yam taste was very light. The ginkgo brought out the orh-ni-ness of the cake, but bcos there were only two, the effect was limited. The dried red date was pleasant. A nice pretty cake that wasnโ€™t too sweet.

Strongly recommended by the ladies behind the counter, I was told this was their best seller. Actually, upon closer look at the tags, there were many best sellers. This was a lovely cake. Such soft pretty colors and fluffy texture. Not very sweet. I couldnโ€™t detect any liquor, just lychee flavor. There were also lychee flesh in the cream. I liked this very much. Very yummy.

I just love orange choc, so this was a must-try for me. I was pleased that the orange flavor was distinct, yet I could taste the choc. A bit too sweet perhaps, but a pleasure to enjoy.

Gula Melaka Attap Chee (S$29)
Layers of pink sponge cake, filled with decadent Gula Melaka Fudge filled with Attap Chee. Sweet memories of the past!
Available at @pgcake in @northpointsg
Packed with chunks of attap chee.
Only disappointment was the writings on the cake which looked smudged. โ€˜yunaโ€™ became โ€˜yunuโ€™.

There was a liquor-like bitterness at the very first bite, which kinda overpowered every other taste in the cake. Cake was moist. I liked that. That seemed to be the common factor in most of Pine Gardenโ€™s cakes. Now I know why their cakes are so famous.
