Too sweet for me...and not really worth it for 4 bucks.
Dry springy egg noodles tossed with ingredients like fried wanton, lean char siew and fried pork lard. It reminded me of Sarawak Kolo Mee. Add the very spicy chili flakes for the extra kick! Loved the fried wantons! The Thai Iced Milk Tea was too sweet for me tho.
Was disappointed with the limited variety of durian pastries. Had to order an a la carte of Nyona Curry Chicken.
Fish & Chips ($13.90) Lobster Bisque ($7.90) Mushroom Soup ($6.90) The two dishes that stood out were Cheesy Sausage with Rosti ($14.90) and Chicken Cutlet with Truffle Sauce ($12.90).
Yummy Nasi Padang!
Mala Grilled Sea Bass (mild) - try it if you dare!
Banana French Toast ($18.50) - brioche french toast, salted caramel, fresh bananas, berries, hazelnuts, mascarpone, tim tam, vanilla ice cream. Loved that the french toast was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The combination of the salted caramel and french toast was just perfect! Chicken Mushroom Mac and Cheese ($17.50) - oven baked gometi pasta, chicken chunks, wild mushrooms, parmesan, mozzarella, mild cheddar, feta cheese. Another must try dish! Sinful yet heavenly. Easily one of the best French Toast and Mac and Cheese I have ever tasted 😋
Sweet Chilli Fish Burger – crispy and juicy fish filet, sweet chilli mayo and fresh vegetables, served on a bun. Chocolate Pie - the chocolate crust with molten chocolate filling was surprisingly good!
Pork Belly Mentai Mayo Don ($9.80+) came with sauteed pork belly slices and onions on a bed of Japanese short-grain rice. It was drizzled with mentaiko mayo that was lightly torched before the dish was garnished with spring onions, pickles, and an onsen egg. Super tasty!
Al Borgo – or "village" in Italian – is an authentic trattoria. Situated on Bukit Timah Road, it offers a tantalising menu of home-style dishes that's served in a cosy setting. Cosciotto di Pollo e Funghi ($25) - Grilled boneless chicken thigh served with mushrooms. The chicken thigh was done perfectly with a crisp to its skin. The sauce had hints of red wine which went well with the chicken thigh. Loved the mushrooms too! Prosciutto ($20) - Mozzarella cheese and ham pizza. The pizza tasted so good when it was served piping hot! Pappardelle alla Boscaiola ($24) - Pappardelle pasta with beef ragout, porcini mushroom and light cream sauce. Another great dish!
The dishes here were affordable and tasty. Had the Green Apple Smoothie, Seafood Aglio-Olio, Beef Bolognese with Meatballs and Sambal Stingray.
Made from French baguette by a confectionery in Gumma prefecture. In Tokyo, it is available only at a few department stores. The crunchy sugar-coated pieces Gouter de roi of breads taste so good!
