📍TCC (Takashimaya)
- Choco Hazelnut Feuilletine Mousse
Instagram-worthy piece of cake, taste wise, not too sweet, rich chocolate hazelnut mousse with the crisp, not bad.
But not sure is it being placed in the chiller for too long or is it meant to be like this, the texture of the exterior is like a little too dry/ coarse…apart from that, quite decent.

📍Tanuki Raw (Orchard Central)
- Chirashi Don
- Truffle Yakiniku Udon
- Oysters
- Salmon
- Gin Tonic
Chirashi Don was on point, fresh sashimi and the grain rice is one of their signature. Friend was satisfied with her truffle yakiniku udon too.
Fresh oyster at $3 per pcs is quite a steal during happy hour with every drinks ordered. A little regret, we should have ordered more, the oysters were very fresh indeed.
Quality food, definitely will be back again.

📍Seorae Korean Charcoal BBQ (Sengkang)
- Sundubu Jjigae (Seafood Tofu Soup) set
- Japchae (Pork)
- Cheesy Gyeran Jjim (Cheese steamed egg)
The tofu soup is pretty ok, japchae normal, steamed egg so-so, overall decent but not wow.
Pretty slow in serving (waited for ard 30min or so) despite not many customers.
Unlikely will come back again for lunch given the long wait and there are better Korean food out there.

📍Katanashi An (Boon Tat St)
- Tori Mentai (Grilled Chicken with Mentai)
Tender and juicy grilled chicken with a tad salty Mentai, goes really with with the rice. Can eat it with dashi broth or on its own, decent and comfort food indeed.

📍Man Man Japanese Unagi (Clarke Quay)
- Standard Hitsumabushi with hot green tea
Menu changed since the last I went but nonetheless, went for the standard hitsumabushi.
Fresh unagi, crispy and tender, to eat as it is (with the sauce) or with the dashi broth, tasted equally good. However, do note that fresh wasabi is not available, only wasabi paste is provided.
The outlet was a little shorthanded, meals and drinks are served pretty slowly.

📍Swensen’s (Compass One)
- Fish & Chips
The signature dish to order each time I visit Swensen’s, lightly yet crispy coated fish fillets, with tar tar sauce and hint of lemon, yum…

📍Astons Specialities (City Sq Mall)
- Fiery Chicken
- Mushroom Soup
- Latte
Still keep up to its standard after the last I had it one year ago…
Always the to-go fiery chicken, so juicy and tender, and the spicy kick, yums…
Decent mushroom soup with bread crumbs and latte.
Satisfying meal indeed!

📍Ho Tak Kee (Marina Bay Link Mall)
- Char Siew (BBQ Pork) Macaroni
Decent comfort food, not wow but homey.
The char siew is half fatty and lean, with the oozing yolk sunny side up, al dente macaroni, and instant noodle soup base (I think), quite normal though.
A little overpriced, but at CBD area, I mean, there are better lunch options available…

📍Chin Chin Eating House (Purvis St)
The chicken is so on point, tender and juicy, chilli and ginger with dark soya sauce is a must, be mindful, the chilli is quite spicy, giving you the kick.
The hainanese chap chye and hotplate tofu are not bad, can order.
As for the cereal prawns, not bad as the prawns are quite plump but I wouldn’t say it is cereal prawns as I couldn’t really taste the cereal.
Overall, decent.

📍SushiGuren
The 13-course omakase (i.e. Tasting Course) for $48+ is really quite a steal!
Fresh sashimi (seabream, swordfish, squid, tuna, shirm etc), aburi fish liver, chawanmushi, etc
The broth is made from the fish bones, bonito and kombu, looks light but flavourful!
Ending the meal with yuzu sorbet to refresh the palate, totally heaven…will definitely be back again.
A small cozy Jap restaurant, do make online reservation before heading over!
Damage: $63.80 (including yuzu shu)

📍The Sandwich Shop (Collyer Quay)
The tomato soup with meat balls is pretty decent, tasted a little sweet and sour, comforting food I would say.
Adding on the bacon and cheese baguette for a meal cos the soup alone isn’t that enough for me. The baguette was just right, not too hard to chew.
Overall, not bad.
