Old school kaya butter buns and soft-boiled eggs! Affordable, but service was messy and disorganised(What do you expect; it's run by 3 old ladies😂) Tbh, won't queue too long for this, guess I would come here just for the experience.
The Spiced Apple Cake($8) was presented beautifully. It was served in a hotpan, and the pastry(not so much cake) had apples and raisins within. Eating the warm pastry with the cold vanilla gelato together is just the perfect combination of hot and cold.
$10 for the strawberry and cream waffle combo! Two crisp buttermilk waffles sandwiching strawberries and whipped cream, along with a scoop of Bananas over nutella ice-cream atop! Love the flavour and the aesthetic of the desserr! Beautifully plated on a wooden board, and drizzled with chocolate sauce and garnished with strawberries and granola too! Abit pricey, but the waffles were crisp and delicious, ice-cream was not bad, so I would say go ahead and treat yourself!
Fish tacos! Beer battered fish with a tangy sauce atop- tacos were filled with fresh veges too making the taco a hearty meal!
Vegan desserts! Enjoyed the hazelnut😄 Earl grey had a distinct taste too👍
Hunted down Katanashi and finally got to try the unagi bowl! For $12 nett, it came with a cold chawamushi, miso soup, pickles and of course-Unagi with sticky sauce and fluffy eggs atop rice. Yummy and much value for money!
Really delicious bowl of Hakata Ramen! The noodles were springy and thin, the charsiu had just the right amount of fat without it being too overwhelming, and the egg was just simply put, to die for-a whole egg given with the oozy cold yolk centre; for $12.90, this is quite a steal! Not to mention I got 10% off as I flashed my student card😆 The pork broth was so good I slurped it all up and left the bowl clean!
Recommended by the staff as the pies were freshly baked, and cherries were seasonal. The warm pie and cold ice-cream ended the meal off perfectly. The pie crust wasn't too thick, and afterall, homemade is best. First time trying cherry pie and it is a pleasant experience
Agnolotti filled with generous creamy butternut squash, served in a butter emulsion with earthy mushrooms. The butternut was delicious, but after awhile got boring as it was just dumpling after dumpling. Some agnolotti(looks like ravioli to me) ends were a tad bit hard as well. But the dish was well-balanced and wholesome.
The portion was HUGE. 3 huge portobello mushrooms, lotsa avacado, 2 poached eggs, toast, tomato salsa, wilted spinach-don't underestimate the size😂 The first egg was flowy, while the second; not so much. I guess it got cold:( (And for some reason, the yolk was really little as compared to the white? Perhaps a different range of eggs?) The avacado portion was generous, and presentation was so pretty! It was fanned out~ The toast crust was a tad too hard, but it went quite well with the other sides.
Had the Yuzu Salmon Bowl(comes with side salad) and it was really wholesome and delicious! The salmon was tender and moist, though couldn't really taste the Yuzu(maybe that's why they provide the lemon) and the grilled zuchini was soft and really added depth to the flavour. I felt that each bowl was thoughtfully handcrafted, knowing what elements contrast and play together. The portion was very worth the $12.9₩!
Definitely a crowd-pleaser when the ice-cream hits the warm, freshly-baked cookie as the chocolate sauce oozes out of the centre😍 we went with nougat ice-cream atop chocolate centre cookie(their signature lava set) and though slightly pricey for the small portion,(wished the cookie was bigger) it was a delightful mix of hot and cold👍 A unique dessert indeed!
