Found a formidable kouign amann at this unassuming bakery! Flaky, caramelised layers with a soft centre. Would do great for a takeaway teatime snack, if you live in the area.
Love this hidden gem which is within walking distance from Paya Lebar Mrt Station(circle line exit). The hainanese kaya is made in-house, a good balance of sweetness and fragrance from the coconut milk. Expect to find a variety of familar local breakfast here, such as mee siam, nasi lemak, wanton mee(looks very promising), fried bee hoon and noodles!good breakfast fix + kopi at very affordable pricing!highly recommended! *Open 6.00 am to midnight (Daily)

The burger is exactly as it claims to be! The patty was thick and juicy and temperature was cooked to perfectly the way I wanted it. Bun was also soft and fluffy while the leaves it sat on were fresh and crunchy. The sides of fries were tasty as well, not overly fried and still retains its fluffy and salted in the right amount
Despite relocating from Sin Ming to Hillview, the new location has not deterred loyal fans of New Ubin Seafood from going the extra mile(s) for their favourite dishes. The sprawling space that doubles up as a canteen during the day can accommodate 280 seats, which makes this ideal for large gatherings. If you're headed here on weekends, make a reservation in advance. First on the list to order: the juicy US Black Angus Ribeye Steak ($14 for 100g) that comes complete with wedges, caramelised onions and beef fried rice (rice fried in beef fat) on the side. It's sinful, but incredibly tasty and a definite winner in our books! As for the standard zi char items, our Burpple community loves the tasty Har Cheong Gai (from $15), Salted Egg Squid (from $16) and, if your wallet can afford it, the Chilli Crab (from $42)!
Avg Price: $25 per person

I teared up when I ate this.... from pain 😂😂😂. But thankfully, their thick and creamy Vanilla Milkshake ($5.90) is a godsend of a fire extinguisher.
The “Insane Hotness” level of the “Nashville Style Hot Chicken” here is an accurate label because the seasoning for that includes the “world’s hottest chili pepper” and it causes agony in all the soft parts of the mouth (when my tongue recovers, I might be able to talk about my experience but for now, I shall stick to typing 😝😅).
You should only get this if you can handle intense spiciness or if you are a true masochist. Otherwise, picking the “Mild” or “Extra” level for their CHIX HOT is probably wiser because you can enjoy their crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside goodness properly.
This Muslim-owned eatery also offers a saner “Original” style which is buttermilk fried chicken seasoned with their own take on New Orleans-inspired “Soul Spice”.
For the sides, you’ll be glad to know there are three available: “Bob’s Baked Beans”, “Creamy Tangy Slaw” and “Fries”, and they are priced at $2.90 each.
The sticky sauce was superb and it went really well with the ice cream and the cake. Absolutely stunning! Just get this and dont question.
P.S. make sure to share though as the sauce might be too sweet for 1 person to finish the dessert

Absolutely blown away by this dessert. Tau huay's texture was on point, it just disintegrates in your mouth but holds its shape well if you don't touch it. The coconut flavour also comes through brilliantly. The honey ice cream has such an amazing honey taste. Every component is great on its own. Really difficult to reconstruct people's childhood, put a modern twist on it so subtly but surely and execute everything well. The salted butter cookie crumble provided a refreshing texture. This for me is deserving of being served in a Michelin establishment if not for 2 minor issues: tapioca balls have a honey note which is a repetition, and the strong flavours of the other elements end up overpowering the coconut tau huay(and there isn't really a easy resolution to this problem since the coconut flavour is already there on its own)
Overall fantastic dish and this level of thought into a dish is simply unbelievable. Starting to love the idea of this place, when they execute crowd favourites perfectly but instead of revolutionising it, they just put a small spin on it to make it theirs
Damage: $10
I had the salmon mentai don and wow was the salmon goood. It's so soft and when it melts on your tongue with the mentai sauce it feels like cuddles with my tongue 😍
Plus there's no gst and service charge 🙊 I would definitely travel to bugis for this 💘 and I'll probably keep eating this whenever I'm in bugis 🤣
