The Honey Butter Chicken came with a generous portion of crispy boneless fried chicken, potato wedges and topokki, all tossed in honey butter sauce and showered with honey butter seasoning powder, cranberries and almonds. Being one with a sweet tooth, I loved how the honey butter sauce enhances the flavour of the chicken, making the dish very satisfying. Ideal for sharing with a friend as this serves two!

This place is nothing short of amazing! I tried the spicy pork riceball and the mustard honey cheese egg. The spicy pork riceball tasted just like your usual pork bibimbap but just elevated because thereā€™s an element of fun too! They provide gloves and you actually get to roll small rice balls to eat. The mustard honey cheese egg was just splendid. I didnā€™t think it would work but this combination blew my mind. The cheese was stuffed in the middle of the egg and when coupled with the bursting of flavours in your mouth of the honey and mustard, it was a delight. Definitely a must try!

I have to say that this is one of the best prawn noodle finds in Singapore! Iā€™m very particular about the thickness of the flavour of the prawn soup and this nailed it all in the right spots! A very hearty soup. I ordered the jumbo prawn and the prawns really fresh too! The noodles were a huge portion and the soup was refillable so I was definitely left really full but happy! Also tried some of the sides and it all gelled very well together. A very affordable but amazing find, one that you definitely have to add to your to try list because it doesnā€™t disappoint!

Perfect place for a date night! The ambience and the service made for the perfect date with my partner.
Paired with shaved fennel and jalapeƱo, there was a slight kick to the ox tongue and the tenderness of the meat was just oozing in my mouth. Have never tasted ox tongue as tender! Donā€™t be scared by the name because this dish is simply amazing. Opted for the creamed curly kale and that was a very pleasant surprise! The egg exploded over the kale, elevating the overall flavour of the kale. Completed the meal with the valrhona chocolate bruciato for dessert and it was the perfect way to round off the meal. The yuzu smell was very light, and when pewter with the poached pear and pear sorbet, it was simply exquisite. The taste was so delightful because of the rich amount of flavours in your mouth.

Having heard that Meat N' Chill was known for their steak and ribs, I ordered the New York strip, which came with 2 generous sides. It came in a very generous portion (220g) and was pretty value for money at the price of $19. For the sides, I was pleasantly surprised that there was corn bread available! Opted for that, and it was a great complement to the strip, enhancing its flavours. After my main, I opted for the Apple Blueberry Cobbler and this was a STRONG RECOMMEND for me! The ice cream gelled so well with the warm apple crumble which was glazed with blueberry compote. The crumble was slightly buttery and made the entire desert not too sweet, but perfect to end off the meal! The staff is really friendly too so that makes it plus plus points :)

Tried the mushroom risotto with truffle oil and walnuts - the risotto was cooked al dente which made it very palatable on the palate! Just the right amount of cheese allowed it to be flavourful but not too overwhelming, the walnuts added a great crunch to the risotto!
The highlight for me would be the calamari fritti! It was highly recommended and wow it was surprisingly so good! The batter around the calamari was not too thick and fried. The way the calamari was prepared had a little twist to it which makes it so delightful! Drizzle it with the lemon and pair it with the mayo and there you have it - the perfect combination!

Nestled along a busy street in Katong is this hidden gem - The Communal Place! I went for the Wagyu burger since it was very reasonably priced and it did not disappoint! The juiciness of the patty was layered with cheese that added a new dimension of flavour to the burger. Very generous portions as well! Also tried the Mangomisu which was a chef recommendation. It tasted a little like mango mousse and was so gorgeously plated - such a feast for my eyes. It was light on the palate and not overpowering in its sweetness!

Itā€™s my first time stepping into Fat belly after hearing so much about it and it certainly didnā€™t disappoint. First of the ambience makes the perfect chill date after a long day of work. There were so many options to choose from but for the appetisers I settled on having the burrata cheese with sourdough. The vinaigrette went so well with the burrata cheese and sourdough. The sourdough was crispy yet fluffy, man left me wanting for more! The star of the show however is definitely the BEEF āœØšŸ„© I tried the Denver, and boy did it not disappoint. It was so tender, and came just the way I liked it- medium rare. They cut it well against the grain and each mouth you could feel the juice just bursting in your mouth. I was full, but my stomach still called for more when my eye caught hold of the desserts. I settled for the burnt cheesecake and it was BOMB. It paired so well with the strawberry jam as well as the biscuit crumble bits, the perfect way to end the night! Would recommend you going if youā€™re a huge beef lover because this was worth every penny!

Iā€™ve never tried Russian food before in Singapore so when I heard that dumplings.ru was opened by an authentic Russian couple in Singapore, I couldnā€™t wait to try it! I wanted something light on the tummy so I got the salmon cheese crepes, which was light and crispy, perfect for a brunch snack. I also tried the Kotlety (meat patties). The dish was interesting as it didnā€™t come with a burger bun but instead was accompanied with potato. The meat was tender and was minced well! I would recommend to visit for an authentic Russian experience.

Tried the al granchio squid ink chitarra! It was doused in a bed of tomato sauce and loads of chunky crab meats inside. I loved how the texture of the squid ink chitarra gave an extra bite and oomph. Had a nice cosy atmosphere too :)

On a nice Sunday I came here to try the Aburiya burger! It doesnā€™t just pride itself for its mains, but also the assortment of desserts here which has distinct tastes of Japan. The Aburiya burger was a fusion Japanese x western twist, with guacamole paired with tamago and sliced A4 Wagyu beef. The burst of flavour in each mouth was an accompaniment of juiciness and a tinge of sweetness, really lovely!

My first thoughts when I stepped in was: this isnā€™t just a normal Tzechar store - it was extremely ā€œzhng-Edā€ up, with a very modernised touch in terms of decorations as well as how vibrant the place is. Saw many people holding their reunion dinners there too, really makes for a comforting family meal together!

Iā€™ve read loads about the wok hei of the food so I was really excited to try their signature dishes! Honestly their menu leaves you spoilt for choice, it has a slight modern twist compared to your typical Tze char store- but I eventually settled for some of their signature dishes.

The BBQ pork cheek was pretty special, both tender and lean - an elevated version of your typical Char Shao. The Singapore style chilli prawns was a unique adaptation of the usual chilli crab. But the mantou is a must to complement the flavourful sauce. Crunchy on the exterior, warm and fluffy on the inside. Each mantou was just 50 cents which had me yearning for more!

The prices are slightly steep for alacarte dishes, but regardless Iā€™ll be back to try more variety! šŸ˜Œ
