Back at one of my favorite cafes to get a bowl of granola bowl with fresh fruits and greek yogurt ($17), fruits were pretty good but I do wish there was more greek yogurt that came with the bowl for the price I was paying. Avocado toast ($17) was more worth it in my opinion since there was a mountain of guacamole that came with it, quality assured. Lastly, the Pimp My Breakfast (Rosti, Bagel with Cream Cheese, Roasted Tomatoes and Scrambled Eggs) came up to only $15++, worth it with the portion that we got cause it was filling.

I have to say Sarnies is one of the more pricey cafes out there, but I do like the food! Go there for the coffee for sure, but note that it’s not a good cafe for big groups of people (there’s limited seats!!!)

Got the Dong Ding Oolong Fresh Milk Tea ($4.70) and Fresh Milk With Brown Sugar Bubble ($5.00). Queued for 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon, not too bad at all! They even gave out samples of the Oolong Fresh Milk Tea for those queuing, highly recommended but do go 100% sugar level for full experience!!

Do note that the Oolong Fresh Milk Tea comes without topping, toppings are $1 each 🤩

The current trend right now: shake shack is finally on our land! Queued for about an hour on a Friday noon and was not disappointed by my shakeburger ($9.20 for single party, $12.70 for double patty) and shack stack ($14.30).

Particularly enjoyed the contrast in texture of the shack stack, with the crispy fried portobello mushroom stacked on top of a tender, juicy beef patty, blending together so well with the melted cheese. Not forgetting my favorite side to get - crinkle-cut fries doused with rich, liquid(y) cheese ($5.90).

I have to say the Shake Shack in Singapore (unlike other franchieses) cuts it close to the outlets in the US. Price point is not heavily marked up as well.

Don't think this I would wait more than 2 hours, but if you do, I have to say it's worth it. Tip: Come before 12pm on a weekday, the wait it roughly 30-60 minutes depending how luck you are with the queue.

Don’t be fooled by the picture, this bowl of goodness can feed up to 3 pax. Found hidden at the basement foodcourt of Cineleisure, this bowl - filled with cabbage, crab stick, meatballs and loads of meat and two portions of instant noodles - cost $27.65. Wouldn’t say it’s the cheapest mala out there, but it’s pretty decent compared to the other mala stalls around town area.

Spice level wise, I would say it’s more “辣” than “麻”, which is what I personally prefer. The instant noodles they use aren’t the usual ones from the packet, it is definitely more fragrant than the pale yellow ones!

Think thick, rich broth that you know have been boiled for hours together with juicy prawns and succulent pork ribs - and many would think of the Beach Road Prawn Mee found along East Coast Road. I never fail to leave this gem disappointed, always going back for the Prawn Mee with Pork Ribs (smallest at $6.80), dry and soup available.

Complemented with fried ngoh hiong, be sure to grab some crispy prawn “crackers” as you slurp on those noodles!

And I dare call this “fast food” because with their efficient operations, waiting time for the noodle and ngoh hiong never passes a 15 minute wait after ordering.

Quick tip - go around 2-3pm, I personally feel that the broth is the richest then. Oh, and they’re closed on Tuesdays!
