Legit Taiwanese Cuisine Ordered 鸡排w/蛋炒饭, 盐酥鸡, 牛肉汤面 and 红油虾肉抄手. Amounted to arnd $42 for 4 dishes which were all so damn good! My fav is the dumplings, love the chilli oil that came together with it and there were so much fillings inside each dumpling! Also loved the chicken cutlet cause it tasted so similar to the ones at the night markets in taiwan. The smaller chicken cutlet balls were more peppery and crunchier so it depends on what kind of texture you like more. The fried rice tastes good toooo, kinda like the ones in dtf. Lastly, the beef in the soup were so tender, melting with each bite, and the knife cut noodles were chewy and well cooked. The soup was herby and really refreshing to drink on a chilly rainy day. All in all, 5/5! Love the food here so much!

Can this beat the King of Fried Rice at Golden Mile Tower? Hidden within @northpointsg B1 food street, @fengfoodsg serves a wide array of Taiwanese delicacies that includes renditions of @dintaifungsg famous signatures. 。 👉Fried Rice w Specialty Marinated Pork Chop - SGD12.30 。 In terms of flavour and texture, their gleaming pork chop definitely exceeded my expectations👍. But as for their egg fried rice, there’s still room for improvement. More of that eggy flavour and wok hei will do the trick! 。 Available now on @grabfoodsg & @foodpandasg. Don’t say never share, you can enjoy a 10% off for takeaways only. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Taiwanese Gem One of my fav places for Taiwanese food! Comparable to Din Tai Fung and slightly cheaper too. Sells plenty of food items that I like - egg fried rice with pork chop, beef noodles, braised pork rice, 盐酥鸡 🤩 Everything that I’ve tried here has been pretty top-notch, would recommend! The pork chop is particularly delicious. A pretty cozy spot, there are not a lot of seats so you might have to queue during peak periods. But service is quick and friendly. ☺️ Prices are affordable too. Will be back again!

Omurice With Soup ($8) Fried chicken omurice with cream sauce and fried fish omurice with marinara sauce. I was abit disappointed that the serving does not look as much as those photos in the reviews. Beneath the egg, is tomato fried rice but there wasn't enough tomato. For this price, i think it's ok.

Crispy Chicken Omurice with Demi-glace Sauce Served with a generous portion of chicken. The chicken was juicy and lightly battered. Goes really well with the demi-glace sauce. Wish more sauce was given. Beneath the layer of egg was fried rice with a hint of tomato taste. Self-service soup and water are available. Overall an affordable and tasty meal.

Meatball Omurice with Demi-Glacé Sauce Visited the new Canteen Bistro at Singapore Management University, which takes the place of the former premises of now-defunct B3: Burger Beer Bistro, located just a short distance away from Bencoolen MRT Station. Serving up only Omurice during lunch service, the Omurice here comes with various selection of ingredients such as Crispy Chicken, Fish Fillet or Mushroom, as well as a choice of sauce from Cream Sauce, Marinara, and Demi-Glacé. The Meatball Omurice is decently portioned for $8, though comes with its own hits and misses — the hits being the omelette itself and the Demi-Glacé sauce; the egg comes flavourful and blankets the bed of flavoured rice perfectly, being slightly runny for a good texture, while the Demi-Glacé sauce comes with an evident hint of meatiness, being a beef sauce that carries also the savoury notes of a typical brown sauce. The rice comes with a slight tang, though that it could be cooked for slightly longer considering that the grains were a tad tough, while the meatballs also felt a bit dry and doughy somewhat; the Omurice also comes with some greens such as cherry tomatoes, cucumber and coleslaw for a refreshing crunch and burst of flavours. Not too bad for those who are not too picky with what they are eating, and an interesting option to have around on campus overall.

Spiedino (Hokkaido Scallop, Salmon, Salsa Verde, Lemon) [$23++] I quite like this. I am not good at describing seafood, but I do like the well-balanced textures of the meal. The salmon skin was toasty and delicious. The scallops tasted rather fresh to me. The lemon made the leafy greens refreshing to eat, albeit a bit oily. Overall a pretty satisfying meal for me :)

When You Fancy A Mediterranean Meal At Home, The Takeaway Menu From Here Is Worth Trying. T R E A T Recently, the kind folks from The CICHETI Group, with the help of their PR @bydanieleng, arranged to have lunch sent to me from their latest-to-open establishment, Caffe Cicheti. As I had been there a few months ago for a hosted tasting, I was familiar with the menu and knew what I wanted to have again. Ranked at the top was the Brussels Sprouts coated in pomegranate molasses and tossed with candied pecans ($12). The moreish creation didn’t disappoint - remaining smoky, sweetish and crunchy after the journeying from the restaurant. What surprised was the Marinated Iberico Pork Rack ($31.50) which I found to be even tastier than the last time. The subtly smoky, juicy meat hit the bullseye between tenderness and enjoyable chew. Served on the side, a refreshing Kale and Granny Smith Salad that helped with cut-through. The Lasagne ($27) was a big and heavy block of pasta sheets layered with plenty of chunky beef cheek ragu, cheese, bechamel and tomato sauce. Naturally, it had cooled and hardened slightly by the time I took it out of the box. But that was nothing a couple of minutes in the oven couldn’t fix. Once heated up, the #Lasagne softened and became really tasty. Owner-Sommelier @ronaldkamiyama had included a lovely bottle of 2015 Rioja for us to pair with the food too, complete with tasting notes since he couldn’t present the Spanish wine in person. Very smooth move, I must say. The “Crack Pie” ($11) was the selected dessert and it pleased in terms of size and a none-too-sweet taste. Coming together were almond frangipane, a cookie base and cocoa crumble. Worth every calorie it was. Just so you know CICHETI and @bydanieleng have made total dining pleasure their priority, they even have a @caffecicheti playlist as well, curated by the one and only @trustmrhas. Salt Overloaded Salt Overloaded!!!!!!!! Cacio E Pepe (S$24++) Available at @caffecicheti in @southbeachavenuesg The pasta was way too salty and I could not take in anymore after a couple of mouthful. The staff took it away after I told him the reason. He asked if I wanted another dish which I replied Grilled Cheese (S$19++). The latter dish was much better. But I was shocked when I was billed in full for both dishes. Why should I be billed for full especially for the first dish? The staff replied that the dish was served, that’s why. The staff replied that he would talk to the manager and returned with a slightly discount for the first dish which now billed for S$16++. I paid for the meal unhappily as too much time had wasted. By the way the bill was taking forever to come. Bad Experience!

Truffle Burger ($15) & Ribeye ($19.50) Second time patronizing this small unassuming restaurant nested among the HDB blocks, prices are affordable and food is delicious. The truffle burger contained a beef patty and mushrooms doused in truffle oil so I could really smell and taste it. Fries was crispy and in a generous portion. Ribeye (medium) was heaven with every bite... so soft! Their mac & cheese is the bombz for cheese lovers, you have to order this when you are there! Utilized BB 1 for 1 so it was $19.50 in total. No GST and svc charge, and there is complimentary water as well. Do note that for BB, only 1 dish can be a steak dish (either ribeye or sirloin) and the other dish has to be either chicken/pork/fish or pasta/burger.

hearty, affordable, delicious (~$15/pax) We ordered a cajun chicken and sirloin steak using burpple beyond, and its so affordable (prices stated on the menu are nett!!!!!)! The chicken is juicy and tender, seasoned perfectly and the sauce (on the side) is slightly spicy and tangy. The steak is average, he felt that there was not much flavour to it, but the meat isn’t tough and there is no gamey taste. Not the worst, but not outstanding either. You are able to choose a side that comes with the main, so we both got the potato skins. The skin is crispy and they even added cheese to the potato, totally delicious. For the price you pay, it’s quite worth it! We would definitely go back for the chicken and to try their pork chop! Also, it might get crowded during dinner time as it is nestled under a HDB block (and surrounded by HDBs), so do come earlier or make a reservation :)

Striploin Steak with Buttered Vegetables ($17) Apologies for the gross-looking photo, but I wanted to show everyone what a lovely medium-rare this steak was! While it coule have been seasoned a bit more, what it lacked in taste was fully made up for in texture. Each bite of steak was so deliciously tender, I was truly sad when I finished the whole thing.

T-Bone Probably inspired by its moniker, the restaurant’s interior sees glossy black marble counters and tabletops, giving off a sleek, classy vibe. We decided to order lightly, intending to do justice to the main event - the steak. Naturally, it arrives on a wooden board, sliced and grilled to a nice shade of rust and brown, with oil glistening off it. Accompanying it is a bulb of roasted garlic and some plump cherry tomatoes, which explodes juice on the first bite. The T-Bone was pretty quality beef, with tension and flavour which you could further amplify by adding salt in varying sodium levels on the side. Black Marble is a nice neighbourhood eatery, though without the pricing like one, and without the pedigree of a high class steakhouse. But hey, this makes for a decent meal nonetheless, and you could always head over to the nearby ice cream parlours for dessert too, if you’re on a date and would like to end the evening on a sweet note.

Lobster & Scallop Saffron Risotto I felt this was overrated, couldn’t see what the hype was all about. Whilst good, this Lobster & Scallop Saffron Risotto felt fairly textbook. Rice was of the right texture and soaked nicely in smoked mullet bottarga zest and has a savoury, lobster bisque taste. Both the lobster and seafood was grilled to perfection, retaining both its freshness and flavour.

My Favourite 😋 I love me a good foie gras but the rendition here is served with blueberry compote which I found rather queer, as it has a slight almost herbal-like taste to it that just can’t seem to fit right in. But the foie gras itself had a crispness on its edge, that crunches and melts once it enters your mouth. It did come with slow-roasted duck breast too, which was flavourful and tender, and some sprouts of greens which I happily tossed to the side hahah
