Quite literally, love at first bite.
They, are the OGs behind franchised brand: 1A Crispy Curry Puff. Generous on the chicken & potato filling, encased in a super flakey shortcrust pastry handmade by grannies in their back kitchen. I love how they control the quality of these puffs by frying only whatâs enough for their hotbox showcase at the entrance of the shop, then occasionally do top ups so everything is fresh and piping hot. This little family run business has been around for three decades and my stomach hopes, many more to come.
PS: Sesame Balls are super good too.
Deemed as one of the poshest weekend brunch places in town, Colony at the @ritzcarltonmilleniasingapore definitely lives up to its fame.
The Ice Bar, thoughtfully situated beside their Live Egg Station, serves up a wide variety of seafood, specially curated for crustacean-enthusiasts: Alaskan King Crabs, Snow Crabs, Half Shell Scallops, Flower Clams, White Clams, Live Prawns, Black Mussels, Lobster Claws, Langoustines and Yabbies.
This Lobster Egg Benedict? Itâs the best of both Live Stations. Served on a thick buttered brioche with sautĂ©ed spinach and creamy hollandaise, the briny Lobster helps bring the whole dish together. Itâs the one item on their buffet no one should miss!
Take this Yuzu Shio Ramen, itâs broth is slightly smokey, giving it this bacon flavour yet remains (never thought Iâd use this word on a bowl of ramen), surprisingly refreshing!
Donât be daunted by the queues you see, we waited 15 minutes for a table despite having more than ten people on line in front of us.
They make a Potato Mille Feuille (layers of sliced potatoes stacked together) then sliced lengthwise and fried; giving it its crisp rigidity which allows diners to enjoy this tapas by picking it up with their fingers. Itâs more fun and casual that way!
Finished with dollops of spiced tomato purée and creamy aioli, every mouthful was a compliment to the one before. Needless to say, we ordered seconds.

Humongous milkshake to go with your burgers and fries.
Very saucy, bold frontal flavours and highly addictive, definitely not for the faint hearted!
Comes complete with half a portion of Dan Dan Noodles, Szechuan Popcorn Chicken đ€€ and a drink of your choice when you opt for their Super Value Meal.

Located on the second level, this Chicken Rice stall run by an elderly couple, gets my vote for best breakfast/rainy day porridge. Iâll usually have the Minced Pork Porridge with a raw Egg (no extra charge). Porridge consistency is thick, almost congee like, and served with generous amounts of YouTiao and Spring Onions.

Each mouthful encompasses and reminds me of the flavours of the Japanese/Korean roasted sweet potatoes. The caramelized sugars, whiffs of sweet potato fragrance, and they even captured the starchiness with a denser mouthfeel.
Itâs challenging to satisfy the masses but I think our favourite Fast Food giant chain definitely smashed this round out of the park.
2bucks/cone (although, itâs 2.2bucks at the kiosk outside Lucky Plaza)

Dive into it and be sure to also get that nugget of garlic confit for more umami flavour bombs.
Served with a well tossed salad to cleanse your palate for the next course.

Creamy, savoury with just a tinge of slightly pungent blue, this half-baked cheesecake sits pretty on a fragrant crumbly Almond Sable tart base.
Knowing I shouldnât have, I still went for dinner with the expectations of BAKEâs Cheese Tarts, and boy was I in for a treat. BAKEâs Cheese Tarts are great, but this, this is in a league of its own. Truly worthy of a signature.

Then you have to try this one.
Large intestines, cleaned, then deep fried with dried chillies, Szechuan peppers, sesame seeds and sliced celery. The batter theyâve achieved for this dish is HIGHLY SATIS-FRYING! Theyâve really thought through this crispy+chewy combination and it just keeps you reaching for more.
Side note: the whacky direct translated names of dishes in their menu will definitely be your dinner time entertainment.

As it turns out, you could Roti Canai your Pumpkin Soup. Especially if your Roti Canai was hand-smashed to crispen the flakey outer crust. It adds a nice savoury kick that goes well with the natural sweetness of the roasted pumpkin. Tear, dip, repeat. Gotta love this version of food fusion.
Naturally lit industrial space filled with plenty of plants was definitely another plus!
