This one was an absolute delight – for both the eyes and tastebuds. Sweet and milky, the coconut-flavoured shaved ice certainly packed a punch. An apt cure the brave-hearted/foolhardy who takes on their green curry too and who, like Mark, ends up utterly conquered.

Ngohiang by the common man suffers all sorts of afflictions: beancurd skins which are either too thick or too salty, paltry fillings, not crispy enough, etc. Ngohiang by this stall, however, is heavenly. This delectable creation is fried to golden brown perfection – so crispy you can hear an exhilarating crunch when your teeth sinks into the soft and juicy pork filling. When paired with the peanut sauce it's a match made in heaven. We love it, and we're definitely making return trips.

The Salmon Mentaik Don ($8.80) was pretty decent for its price: Generous slice of salmon which was reasonably soft, but a tad too salty for my liking (perhaps a result of the metaiko and the teriyaki sauce on the rice). But we'll definitely be back!

Hopping on the @hollin_sg bandwagon specifically for their matcha pearls! Granted, the matcha flavour of the pearls wasn't as strong as we would have liked it to be, but it paired really well with the black tea - which carried the slight hint of tea-ish bitterness.

Visited this place after a long hiatus, and the cakes are as good as when I first tried them. The signature [Yatsura] comes highly recommended with its classic layered mousse / sponge combination we love so much, the creamy chocolate mousse dovetailing nicely with the crunchy hazelnut feuilletine.
Give the croissants a miss though. They were so dense, it felt like we were having a sponge cake.

The broth had significant seafood tones, quite similar to that of Adam Road's Noo Cheng. But what was really unique was its mild spiciness, giving each mouthful a nice kick which dissipated almost immediately. Big no-nos were the tough pork ribs, the unpeeled prawns and the narrow spoons provided.
