Had always been wanting to visit the outlet at Kovan/Ang Mo Kio, but they also had opened a branch in Food Junction at United Square some time last year. Had the entire plate to myself and totally enjoyed the smooth and silky rice rolls which weren't too thin nor thick that comes flavored aptly from the savoury light soy sauce and crispy shallots. Inside the rice rolls contains shrimp which may not be the freshest (as compared to commercial Chinese restaurants), but definitely of a good grade considering the stall's coffeeshop roots. A good find in a shopping mall food court; shall make a mental note to come here some day with others for dimsum and congee soon!
Really attractive pricing, with nothing over $13.80 (for the British Breakfast Platter loaded with the full works), and Truffle Tater Tots at only $6. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area for brunch.
Better than truffle fries, because tater tots.
Ayam buak kuluak remains my favourite of all. #burpple
👌🏻 Better yet, it was served on a proper plate and only costed $5!! 😱 It's on the first lane of food stores on the left when coming in from the carpark. Must try.

Every pieces of chicken are well coated with the creamy salted egg yolk sauce, and it's still able to remain its crispiness exterior. The sauce is so creamy yet you don't feel greasy eating it.. So so good!
Sheng Da BBQ Seafood is located at Newton Food Centre Stall No. 2.
I can't remember the name of store but it's in front of the car park.
Duck platter for 2 consists of duck meat, toufu, toupok, bean sprouts, egg, peanuts, pickles and the unusual pigskin! The rice is fragrantly sauced and the soup is the herbal type. Well paired with fresh orange juice from the stall next to this. The platter set is going at $12.
This is from kwee heng stall. The soup is marvellous. Very herbally taste which is good. The duck meat is tender and well roasted. I ordered the bigger bowl. Which is $5. Smaller portion is $4. Recommended.
Probably one of the best ones in Singapore, this carrot cake is deep fried in a thick, sweet black sauce with lots of egg, topped with chopped spring onion and sambal chili on the side – fragrant with wok hei flavor.
Welcome home.
