Thanks for bupplers Who posted about sun Lok’s new location. The last time I dined at their Jurong super bowl branch was more than 10 years back and haven’t been back because it was a little out of the way .

I am Glad that I have found my place to their new outlet at clementi this time.

Everything about this place makes you think you are dining in Hong Kong .

First and foremost the food was fabulous .
The porridge was silky and smooth ( and reminded me very much of crystal jade’s) while the wanton noodles came with 6 plump wantons hidden beneath a huge portion of springy noodles .

The home made char siew pao was soft and fluffy and filled with juicy char siew while the century egg and salted egg vegetables in broth was well prepared with a tasty broth .
It was very comforting to know that all the dim Sum items are hand made in house by the Chef.

For food quality this good , prices are reasonably affordable especially the noodle and porridge items .

The service was really warm and we were well hosted by an Aunty was Has been with the restaurant for 20 years. She made the dining experience really enjoyable - almost like we were dining at home .

And do check out the deco of the deli - very authentic Hk style .

Had one soya sauce chicken($22), the noodle and dumplings for share which costs $8 per person only! Very satisfying as the soya sauce chicken is so tender. The dumpling is exceptionally tasty - would like to buy a box home if possible!

Tasty bowl of BCM. Portion was bigger and cheaper than the one-Michelin star Hill Street Tai Hwa (where a medium bowl goes for $8). However, overall, I think Tai Hwa still edges this place out in terms of taste of ingredients and the chilli/vinegar proportion. Still a great bowl - would eat again!

One of the renowned Thai restaurants for their variety and affordable dishes, Nakhon Kitchen serves pretty authentic Thai food that draws returning customers back for more.

I personally liked the clear-based Tom Yam Soup (S$6.00) for the oomph in the level of spicyness, balanced so well with the sourness of it. And if the spices gets a little too overpowering, vegetable dishes such as the Stir-Fried Kai Lan with Mushroom (S$6.00) makes wonders in neutralising the burning tongue.

For those who prefers to stay on the safe side, I believe the Pandan Leaves Chicken (S$6.00 for 4 pieces) will be highly recommended as the fragrance of the pandan leaves seems to have infused into the chicken chunks quite thoroughly.

In general, as long as the seafood dishes are not ordered, one can have a very good meal for under S$20.00.

Best Prawn Mee, I tried Jumbo bow. The prawn so nice, soup is great.

Managed to taste the 'legendary' Kok Kee wanton noodles again! The portion here is much much bigger than the lavender counterpart, but of course means the sauce is "lesser" proportionally. Still yummy nevertheless.

Had a sudden craving for dim sum. Luckily there's one outlet in the west to satisfy this craving! My favourites are... The baked charsiew bun and the malai gao! 🙆🙆

A traditional eatery surrounded by trendy restaurants, Kok Sen can claim to be the OG restaurant in Keong Saik. And OG restaurants deserve gangster dishes; which is what the hor fun essentially is.

Costing $16-$48 dollars pending on size (this was $48) you get a gigantic serving of biggest prawns nestled in flat rice noodles that have been scorched by the wok. It gets finished with a monstrous dallop of spicy, starchy broth swirling with raw egg streaks and bits of dried shrimp giving it its signature umami kick.

If the plates on every table don’t give it away, this is a must-order when visiting Kok Sen.
