I don't know why I haven't tried this place sooner.... I think it just made it to my top 3 places for grain bowls 😛😛😛 at an affordable price of $13.80, there are so many options to choose from! (1 grain + 1 protein + 3 sides) and they are generous with every portion. I got the black rice with garlic, falafel and beetroot daal, guac, broccoli and cauliflower salad as well as sweet potato. In addition to that, I chose the teriyaki miso dressing and got a complimentary dollop of alfalfa sprouts. It was so satisfying, a good quantity of healthy food to have on a plate for sure. It was also one of the few places whose grain bowls are so packed with flavor. Every component was tasty and could easily be eaten on its own (this is especially enjoyable for people like me who like to eat the items individually instead of mixing them all together). What a wonderful contrast of flavors and textures, a new favorite !

This may seem rather out of place on the menu at The Hangar but trust me, it is super legit.
Piled on the big heap of al dente, skinny egg noodles is a heap of deliciously-seasoned, dryish shredded pork. There’s also a runny-yolked egg, teeny-tiny crunchy ikan bilis and a scalp-prickling chilli paste that go into this dish. Make sure you give everything a good toss before digging in - it tastes best that way.
I always ask for extra chilli but it is quite a killer. So on your first visit, I’d suggest you try the noodles with the standard amount of chilli first.

back to @bluelotus_sg again for this pork lard truffled flavoured fried rice ($22). hot stone interior first rubbed with butter before tossing the rest of the ingredients in.. including more crispy more lard! remember to let rice rest and “burnt” in hot stone for that extra wok in your rice.

Roasted beef don was disappointing. For $12.80, portion was decent but the beef came cold and was slightly sinewy. It came medium/rare (in the middle).

This was highly recommended by the colleagues when we first joined the company and being just opposite the office, it’s as convenient as it can get. Coincidentally, this was also the last meal that I had with my two best-est buddies before I embarked on a new journey in my career. Everything that we have ordered since the first visit never fails to impress us but one thing that we always have to order would be the appetizer dish of Green Bean Glass Noodles. Do try it when you’re here!

Recommended by fellow foodie, @veronicaphua, this is a salad bowl that you definitely shouldn’t miss out when you’re at the Hangar for a meal. Aptly named Steak Burrito Bowl ($18), this got me all excited upon seeing the mountain of ingredients atop the cauliflower rice. What’s more, you instantly know that you’ve made the right choice when there’s a nicely grilled slab of flank steak to go with the other vegetables such as mushroom, cherry tomatoes and homemade baked beans. The hearty portion will most certainly fill you up and I recommend you wash it all down with an iced latte.

Chef Kang is exacting when it comes to the ingredients he uses.
In his “Prawns with Glass Noodles”, served sizzling in a claypot, you will find “tang hoon” (glass noodles) imported from Thailand.
According to Chef, the reason is the Thai product is made from 100% mung bean. Unlike others that are produced with other kinds of starch, this one will not leave you feeling bloated even if you consume a lot of it. I can vouch for that 😁
A few people I’ve dined with, have commented this dish is a bit salty but personally, I just find it very tasty. Yes, the seasoning is a little heavy-handed here, and there’s ample use of spices but those reasons are why this Thai-style dish tastes so good to me 😋

Got the chance to head down to 300Boru within Geisha Specialty Coffee for lunch today — serving up really affordable ramen and donburi for less than $10.00, it is needless to say that the space was actually pretty occupied during our visit at lunch hour though there seems to be a fast turnover for every table.

At $9.90, there isn't much to complain here — there's actually quite a good portion of salmon underneath all that savoury mayo. Overall though it's decent for its price, but if I were to nitpick, it seemingly tasted more of mayo; the slight char from the aburi just don't seem to be strong enough here. Still, the portion seems pretty substantial enough without leaving one in a food coma — a place that would satisfy the office workers/students in the neighbourhood for how it is of a decent quality at the price point. Looking forward to try their ramen the next time I make a visit; looked so good seeing what others have ordered.

Seafood mui fan. The rice used in the seafood mui fan was pre-fried, and thus has a smoky fragrance to it. The rice, together with prawns, squid and sliced fish, is doused in a good amount of egg gravy.

I have no idea why Peperoni Pizzeria named the classic Italian al cartoccio as ‘seafood misto’ ($34++), but I ain’t complaining. Regardless of the name, this hodgepodge of seafood swimming in a stunning, stellar broth that’s been wrapped and baked in parchment paper is indescribably indulgent.

Normally, the Italians would simply wrap all the seafood up and toss it all into an oven, but the seafood is all different and each has its own prerequisite cooking times. Fortunately for us, Peperoni wisely decided to cook each individual seafood component to perfection before assembling it all in the bay of broth for a quick journey into the oven instead.

The result is perfection. The prawns were fresh, firm and snappy, as was the squid. The huge halibut filets were moist and flaky while still managing to stay in a relatively intact piece, while the clams were simply perfect. But the winner is definitely the rich, sapid broth that’s just undeniably umami.

It took Peperoni months of research & development to get every single little detail of this dish right, from the time spent in the oven, to exactly when to put the butter into the broth. And it definitely shows, as the savory broth is so rich and luscious you would be forgiven for thinking that there’s cream within. No cream here sunshine, only butter. And it’s marvelous.

❤️I'm craving a good chicken stew and thick fresh Slabs of Salmon Sashimi. I miss the ones at #tsukijifishmarket #Tokyo 😂 So fresh and if you get a good cut of salmon belly, it melts in your mouth like heaven!! Bliss! This summer #chickenstew from @lunarcoffeebrewers near cbd downtown gallery reminds me of home cooked meals by my mum! Generous serving of Chicken leg in a rich tomato broth with herbed potatoes and sourdough on the side ❤️Hope You guys are having a great Thursday 😜

Tender beef slices, flavourful well-balanced gravy from the spices but was thankfully not spicy. Comes with Japanese rice and onsen egg. Quite a hearty bowl for food coma to ensue at work!
