The portion was big enough to fill my hungry stomach and the potato dippers were delicious. One of my fave places for affordable comfort food.

Situated at Kreta Ayer, the newly opened Les Delices (which translates to "The Delights") intriguingly pairs Chinese tea -- both hot and cold brew options are available -- with French choux pastries and cakes. Their signature choux pastry come in flavours such as Earl Grey Milk Tea, Valrhona Chocolate and Matcha, while cakes currently include the Mango Charlotte and Berry Popping Cheesecake. Go for the Lemon Strawberry Rosette and Earl Grey Milk Tea Choux!

$17.90++ for set, which comes with hot tea, mini salad in sesame dressing, chawanmushi and a side.

Cold-pressed goodness, steamed dumplings, grilled portobello cheese, stuffed capsicum salad. #burpple

I finally went back to Real Food Grocer to have the dry dumpling noodles I love again! Portion was generous, noodles cooked wonderfully Q and tossed in a fragrant sesame sauce. The dumplings were flavourful, and packed with various textures and ingredients - satisfying despite the absence of meat protein. Such a hearty, feel good meal! Try to go early for dinner/lunch before the crowd comes because the food is freshly prepared upon order so it may take some time. :)

Had the 'Hadoken' - pork patty topped with spicy meat sauce. Burger was fresh and not overly porky and the fries were really well done. Thumbs up.

Walking distance from Kovan MRT, Hatter Street has already won the hearts of many with their whimsical touch and delightful array of cakes, waffles and drinks. While they don't serve savoury food, this is just the spot to visit during tea time or after dinner (they're open till 10pm). If waffles are what you're after, go for the seasalt or pandan gula melaka Whoaffles ($8.90). A must-try dessert is their Smoked Sawdust Pudding ($5) -- a truly innovative dessert of whipped milk pudding and biscuit crumble with a plume of aromatic smoke trapped in a jar!

Serving incredibly satisfying Nordic-inspired fare like sandwiches on freshly baked sourdough, vibrant Nordic salads, and freshly ground coffee, it's no surprise that Gaest has developed a loyal following. For a simple weekend brunch, their Eggs-in-a-hole Sourdough Toast is the perfect choice. Not forgetting their ever-popular Pork Sandwich -- a delightful combination of roasted pork, crispy crackling, refreshing red cabbage slaw and apple slices on sourdough. There's something so refreshing about this unpretentious, sincere cafe that makes you want to come back. For uncomplicated, deliciously wholesomefare that won't break the bank, this is it.
