Any big fan of pesto would definitely fall for this (yes, I’m one of them!). It was just nice a portion to get yourself going in the morning, or to snack while having a cup of coffee. I love the marriage of avocado and basil pesto, and the side of greens with dashes of balsamic vinegar was refreshing to the palate. It was a simple affair that gave a warm homey feeling.
I'm so glad that finally I managed to try this shop on my day off. It has been pretty tough for me as their brunch operation ceases at around 4ish. The ambience here is super cosy too, perfect for chilling before starting your work, or to get a quick dose of coffee.

Here is a sneak peek at the "Mushroom Truffle Risotto" from The Betterfield. For those who like meaty mushrooms and truffle oil, you should not miss this when it's launched. I think it's also really clever of the chef to throw in fresh spinach to punctuate the dish with texture while boosting its flavours.

They weren't kidding when they named them "Mini Me" waffles because they're about an inch thick and 3 inches in diameter 😝 Nonetheless, they smelled wonderful and tasted good. Loved their golden crunchy exterior and lightness within. For my scoop of yogurt gelato, I picked the Honey Walnut. Its slightly tangy flavour worked well with everything else on the plate.

Located in a humble coffeeshop in Tiong Bahru Estate, this stall serves up some mean Italian pasta - for just $6! End off your meal with some unique crème brûlée - with flavours extending to earl grey, triple espresso, and Thai milk tea. Their incredibly satisfying, extremely affordable and regularly changing menu will keep you coming back!

FIX, a brand new cafe opened by the people behind GRUB, brings you the naanwich. These signature naan/sandwich fusions come with a variety of fillings like chicken tikka, smoked turkey ham & cheese, and even beef & kimchi, all nicely wrapped in soft naan and served with a side of cheesy nachos. Be sure to try their range of desserts, which are all made in-house. Located at HomeTeamNS @ Balestier, you'll even get to enjoy good food with a poolside view. Not too shabby.

Serving cheap & good izakaya-type dishes that pair well with beers from neighboring The Good Beer Company and Smith Street Taps, Fork n' Fingers is unique and fun. Give all their dishes a try, especially the Hae Bee Hiam Rice ($3) and Spicy Sesame Spinach & Tofu ($2). This stall is certainly a refreshing addition to the already awesome Chinatown Complex Food Centre.
