I had high hopes and really wanted to love this, but the duck leg confit was unfortunately way too salty for me 😢 The service was good and I really liked the appetizers (french onion soup was really rich and cheesy!! 👍🏼), but the main dish was quite a disappointment. If you like heavier meals or meals that are rich on flavour and salt, then this may be for you? But personally this was a miss for me :(

Saw a long queue for this stall, and I knew I had to try it! 😅 And now I understand why there was such a long queue for it! We ordered half a chicken ($11) and two plates of rice (50 cents each) which was just nice for two of us! 👍🏼 The chicken was very soft and tender, and the rice was fragrant and fluffy 😋 Their chilli was great as well - just the right amount of spiciness! Overall, really good and affordable chicken rice!

Putien’s Oyster Festival is back! They have an ongoing promotion now - 2 oyster dishes for $33.80. We tried their signature fried oysters and it was really yummy! I like how the dish is not too oily, and the oysters were plump and fresh! It goes really well with their signature Spice Mum chilli. It’s a little pricey at $17.90 compared to those sold at Hawker centres, but the quality and freshness of the oysters here makes up for it. 👍🏼

Hidden in Viva Business Park at Chai Chee, Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu serves really yummy and homely yong tau foo! 😋 Unlike other yong tau foo stalls, you don’t get a choice of items as each bowl comes with 7 different items (prawn ball, pork ball, bittergourd, white, black and gold rolls and beancurd). And all these are handmade! Each bowl comes with beehoon (and you can ask for more beehoon at no extra cost!) The chilli sauce is also really yummy and spicy 👍🏼 I preferred the soup version, but I think it’s really up to your personal preference. Really glad to have found this hidden gem and I will definitely be coming back for more 😊

This was really flavourful! The tomato sauce was tangy and complemented the poached eggs and chorizo well! The poached eggs were cooked just right - creamy but not too runny. The toast was also crispy and warm, great to dip the sauce with!

Really using up all my Burpple Beyond deals here 😅 But their brunch items are all so good! The avocado was really creamy 😍 and it was topped with heaps of feta cheese, cherry tomatoes and almond flakes. I drizzled some lemon over for added zest! This was a really satisfying brunch. However, One Man Coffee does get quite crowded on weekends so you may have to wait a while for a table 😰

Really yummy and filling salad! It comes with roasted chicken breast, pomegranate, cherry tomatoes, couscous, walnuts and passion fruit dressing. I was pleasantly surprised by the passion fruit dressing, as it added a nice, refreshing flavour to the dish👍🏼 The portion was quite large as well, so it was quite filling.

Fresh Fruit Yoghurt Bowl comes with homemade granola, a variety of fruits (strawberry, banana and blueberry) and a drizzle of honey! It was really light and healthy, which was great for my post-workout meal! However, the portion was quite small and I don’t think it’s really worth $11. BUT I used Burpple Beyond 1-for-1, so effectively it was only $5.50 😅👍🏼

Really decent burgers at an affordable price point! I tried Burg’s Classic Cheeseburger and added 60 cents for an additional fried egg. The beef patty was thick and juicy, and it came with cheese, pickled green chilli and crispy fried shallots. I like how they added their own local twist with the green chilli and fried shallots 😋 The burger also comes with thick cut fries, which were hot and crispy!

This is hands down one of the best carrot cakes I’ve ever tasted! Carrot Walnut cake is one of Cedele’s best sellers and it’s not hard to see why! It’s super moist and cinnamon-y, and just look at that thick layer of cream cheese frosting!! 😍 I also love the generous amount of walnuts 😋 Really really good 👍🏼

I’m not the biggest fan of ramen, but I enjoyed the Tonkotsu ramen here 👍🏼😋! The ramen noodles were thin and springy (and you can even customize how soft or firm you want the noodles to be!). And the pork broth was very flavourful. They also provide free-flow hard boiled eggs and condiments. I recommend trying Takana (spicy pickled mustard leaf), as it goes well with the ramen 😋

Kith cafe is located on the ground floor of Millenia Walk, along a whole stretch of cafes. I love how there’s ample power plugs at this cafe, which allows you to get some work/studying done while grabbing a meal. The breakfast wrap I ordered had scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, guacamole in a tortilla wrap, with salad on the side. It was really yummy and I really liked creamy scrambled eggs! 😋 The portions here are really generous as well! I couldn’t finish my wrap and had to takeaway remaining half😅
