[CLOSED] Aw's Signature Minced Pork Noodle (Tanglin Halt Food Centre)

What I like about this bowl of Signature Noodles 招牌面 ($5 nett) is how it's an elevated version of regular Bak Chor Mee 肉脞面. You select your noodles of choice & whether you want it dry or soupy - that's the normal SOP to begin with. When you tuck in, you will have a hard time deciding which ingredient to eat first.

The mountain of unique ingredients includes: Handmade fishball, meatball, pork slices, pork liver, quail egg, pork liver, fish maw, prawn & mock abalone. Of course there is a very delicious bed of mushroom minced pork at the bottom, too.

The chilli is on the spicier side; nothing too overwhelming, but it broke me out in a sweat 😂 Noodles were done well, & had good texture... But I did find this on the salty side, so perhaps I will try the soup version next.

Overall, I find this dish more value for money than the other offerings they have. Perhaps because I value variety i.e. the spice of life 😉

Pictured here is my highly recommend Braised Pork Noodles $4 served with thick cubes of meat and juicy braised pork with tau pok and quail eggs and not forgetting the Aw's signature sauce!

At $5, the amount of ingredients given here could be overly crazy (but I like). You can have my words when I say one can easily find over 10 ingredients in their Signature bowl ($5/$8) - expect surf to turf varieties from prawns, quail egg, fried meatball, boiled meatball, sliced abalone, sliced pork, minced pork, pork liver, fish maw, fish dumpling, mushrooms & lard.

Ask for extra Chili if you're a spice enthusiast, the one here packs a punch & is bound to give you more than an extra kick. My Singaporean dictionary can't find a better word other than shiok? Tell me about it.

Their Braised Pork ($4) cooked based on a recipe that has passed down from his granny also deserves a special mention. A timeless classic that was succulently tender & fragrant after soaking up all the sweet & savoury elements from the sauce, for which each mouth gives a true taste of home-cooked food blast from the past. Other items on their humble menu includes Fish Maw Bee Hoon ($4/$6), Minced Pork Noodles ($3/$5) & Handmade Fishballs ($3).

A next gen young hawker that's making a difference in our local hawker scene ! Situated in the quiet heritage estate of Tanglin Halt, they are cooking up a storm! This is their signature noodles which is $5. You get tons of ingredient in this bowl. Prawn, quail egg, pork ball, abalone slice, baby clam, fish maw, fish dumpling, mushrooms...really value for money. The noodles were cooked nicely too, none of that overt alkaline taste. These young Hawkers definitely deserve more support, do visit them if you can!!
