Few years ago, when I was working and Bukit Timah is one of the pit stop before changing bus to go home, I would visit this porridge stall which is at the end of the hawker. When I jio to Bukit Timah, this is the stall I went straight. I'm not sure of the name but this stall is near a satay stall and this ceuntry egg & lean pork only cost $3 with so much ingredients. It is so worth it.

You could immediately spot this satay beehoon stall with the never ending snaking queue 😂 but to be fair the queue moves quite fast!

This satay beehoon was just so sinful and so fragrant 😭 there's no such thing as not enough gravy when it comes to satay beehoon because the gravy is the star of the show 🤪 the gravy is nutty, savoury, alittle creamy and paired so well with thin beehoon soaking in all the sauce 😭 been missing this ever since and definitely a must get when I head there again ♥️

Have never liked white carrot cake because I'm scared of the eggy taste but this famous store only sells the white version so decided to give it a try. BEST DECISION EVER. No eggy taste, very fragrant with generous savoury caipo (preserved radish) but what made this white carrot cake stand out was how it's so crisp on the outside but remains so soft inside 😍 like that they also offer various amount of serving options starting from $2.5 and above so you could choose whether to share it or have it all by yourself 🤪

Found this bowl of BCM pretty nice! Enjoyed the mee pok, which had good texture - not soggy or clumpy. I liked the light sauce that the noodles were tossed in, and the stewed mushrooms as well. What a surprising find! Do go early in the morning as the queues can get pretty long by 9am.

🍴Decided to give both #hokkienmee stalls a try and both are 4⭐️ . They stood out for different reasons that made it tough determining which was better. The more famous and longer standing #xiekeehokkienmee (02-174; $3) uses a mix of flat noodle and beehoon. It was fried better to have better texture and wok hei but was weaker in prawn flavour and the accompanying chilli was on the sweet side. In comparison, the newer stall Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee (02-132; $4) had a richer prawn flavor and delicious sambal chilli that packed a good kick. Both came with a good amount of fresh prawns and squid. We also got our usual white carrot cake from #hezhongcarrotcake (02-185; $3) which is still good as ever with its soft radish, tasty chye poh, and mix of egg.

An average bowl of wanton noodles. The noodles were not overcooked, and was tossed in a savoury sauce. There was one fried wanton and 3 wantons in soup, slices of lean charsiew (the kind with red food colouring) and some veg. Decent, nothing outstanding, but I don’t think I would go for this unless other better options in Bukit Timah Market are unavailable.
