More Reviews of good food at Curbside Cafe & Wine Bar

My last visit here was almost 2 years ago and this is still a lovely dessert I'll recommend here. The brownie was chewy and moist at the same time with a layer of red velvet mixed with cheese atop the brownie. The only let down is probably the drop in the quality of vanilla bean ice cream, but the brownie is still just as awesome.

Throwback to my very first piccolo. I always drink that ever since.

The Short Review

Price Range: $15-$20

Nearest MRT: Buona Vista

Instagrammability: Moderate -
Chalk wall, but lighting's obscured by adorning bottles.

Food:
1) Coca-Cola Beef Stew [$16.00]
Acquired taste, but it sort of works for me.
Promised mash, but I only got a smidge. Would have loved the stew to be thicker, probably with more mash?
The beef is incredibly tender though. How wonderfully corrosive Coke is.

2) Eggs & Toast [$9.00]
Elected Ciabatta over Sourdough/Wholemeal and
Poached Eggs over Scrambled/Sunny.
Mediocre at best.

3) Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownie [$10.00]
In theory, it sounds like a great dessert.
And it is.
It's a brownie that swirls up into a cheesecake, and its red velvet component lends an interesting colour to the cake, though any red velvet taste is overwhelmed by the cheesecake brownie. A generous scoop of vanilla bean ice-cream sits atop, and every red stain it collects as it melds together with the brownie is quite satisfying.
My only gripe is the price. For $6 or less, I'd totally recommend the pilgrimage for it. Prices are nett.

Come Here: Again.

I hate overly salty food, but I quite like this one. Unhealthy processed meat? Whatever. I love spam. And this finger-sized food goes well with the mustard sauce. If only the mustard is stronger, but it's definitely a perfect finger food to share with friends!

It has been quite some time since I last came here for lunch, and a pleasant surprise with the changes in their menu. Ordered their special of the day, creamy mushroom pasta with prawn kebab. Taste wise the pasta was not too bad as it was not too creamy and the mushroom flavor was just right, however, the dish was slightly too oily. The prawn kebab was fresh and juicy, it deserves its own pasta dish instead of the mismatch with the mushroom pasta.

A proper steak sandwich, made with well-aged meat, a fresh crusty roll and all the right condiments, is one of the most glorious things you can eat with your hands.

Curbside Cafe is one of the best spots to get your caffeine fix, from as early as 8am. It's good to know that they recently changed their menu and expanded the food selections despite the limited kitchen space.

Curbside Cafe & Wine Bar is good to visit on weekends as well (no office crowd) if you wish to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

There's something cheeky about having brunch food on Friday, a short break from work and a perfect start to the weekend. So I'm so glad that Curbside sells breakfast food up till 4pm. Poached eggs were nicely done with oozing yolk and the rest? You can't go no wrong with bacon, toast and a cup of cappuccino. :)

Love the ambience at Curbside Cafe, at 12noon it's still pretty quiet and cosy but crowd starts coming in slightly later, probably as its tucked a little far away in Biopolis. Having previously tried their burger and brunch menu, decided to try something different today. The cod fish was fresh but was a little lackluster, chips was ok but not fabulous. Will probably stick to their brunch menu next time!

the best place to chillax over a cuppa good coffee. The Buffalo wings are great too! <3

Away from the city to this quiet cafe that serves good food as well as friendly staff around. Total bill $44. Oh, coffee is only at $4.50!

With a layer of rich red velvet cheesecake atop a dense chocolate brownie, this sweet treat is best shared amongst friends. Special mention goes to the ice cream served with the cake that's jam-packed with vanilla bean.

Red velvet cheesecake brownie with ice cream ($8). Loved this!

We had the mac & cheese, truffle fries and cod fish & chips. Now waiting for dessert! (Met one of my ex-students here who's now a chef! Time flies!)

Also eyeing on the S'more cake, but sadly it wasn't available. I hope they could expand their dessert menu when I return in the near future.

It could get a little warm if you were walking under the sunshine to get here. Nevertheless I love the natural lighting and serenity here.

Made by the boss of Curbside Sam Koh. Quite fab, moist, tasty not too sweet. The contrast between the cold ice cream and cake works well.

Comes with an option of Sourdough or Ciabatta toast and eggs done overeasy, scrambled or sunny side-up. Creamy, runny eggs and savoury smoked salmon coupled with a sweet Mesculun salad. Bacon was slightly tough and bak-kwa like though.

Fried Cod Fillet with fries and coleslaw. Unusually rubbery and bland fish, with a sprinkle of salt to taste. Fries were crispy and thick, fluffy and well salted with a fresh and cold coleslaw, but could not really make up for the uninspiring fish.
